Critical Charge nerf is an indirect nerf to the vMA 2H...

...and the vMA 2H is already greatly underperforming compared to its closest alternative—the nAS 2H (both are used to fill up the 11th "dead" slot in 2H stam PvP builds). The disparity is so great that you rarely see the former in any recommended builds these days.

This is despite the fact that the nAS 2H is laughably easy to acquire, while the vMA one involves some of the toughest PvE content in the game.

PLEASE consider redistributing the lost damage from Critical Charge (and its morphs) into the Merciless Charge effect of the vMA 2H, in order to stop this weapon from falling further into disuse and obscurity.

This makes sense. Honestly, I don't see why they made an issue out of charge abilities... crit rush, specifically, is easily dodged or blocked and it leaves you vulnerable to being exploded if you unknowingly rush into a several people...

Just remove the merciless charge enchant and give it its weapon damage boost back.

    RIP VMA 2H.

Either buff it or make it drop in normal maelstrom because its pretty useless.

I still cant believe they nerfed my baby, all that work and frustration all for nothing after one run of nAS, where I didnt even have to do anything because I was afk for pretty much the whole thing.

Makes no sense at all that this 2h is better then my VMA 2h. Swap the enchants or something.. its complete bs.

PTS iteration 3.3.1 is out, with no mention of any adjustments to Merciless Charge. Could we get some acknowledgement of the issue please?

Honestly a simple 10% buff to the tooltip of the set bonus would make me happy. Anything to salvage this item.

The bleed itself is strong enough, I wouldn't be too interested in seeing that buffed. But maybe they could add something else to the bonus like a 5% cost reduction to the skill (same for all the other vMA weapons?).

AS 2h is being used because OP AF.
No small change to Critrush would make vMA 2h more appealing.

There's only so often one can cast Crit Rush in a combo/rotation (sure, some people like spamming gap closers, but that's hardly optimal DPS, and even less so following these nerfs), so it constitutes a minor proportion of one's stam expenditure—this would seriously dampen any effect a cost reduction would have, especially if it were as low as 5%. Master destro gives a whopping 30% and only recently started receiving attention.

I would rather just retain the current "flavour" of the item and boost what it's supposed to do—raw damage over time—to a more viable level. If it were strong enough already, we wouldn't see it used so seldom.

One great suggestion that was offered during the CWC PTS cycle was to turn the Merciless Charge DoT into an actual bleed. This would boost the damage (since bleeds bypass armor), and also make the weapon a more dynamic option.

    Maelstrom weapons are so weird.

We have the bow, which is probably the single most powerful single item in the game, and the inferno/lightning staves which are basically required on every PvE magicka DPS build ...

... and everything else sucks. The Maelstrom DW weapons are bugged to hell and laughably bad (I've got like 16 gold Maelstrom DW weapons collecting dust in a bank). The 2H weapons suck. The S&B suck (although with the direction ZOS is taking block cost reduction, maybe this will be useful in a "tanks must heavy attack" meta). The resto has some uses but is generally outperformed by other setups.

It is all about selling copies. Asylum weapons will be balanced down as soon as sales won't be needed anymore. Exactly that happened to VMA weapons.
VMA 2H weapon is perfectly balanced now (if taking asylum out of the picture).

...and you cannot blame ZOS here - as the game will seize to exist if non-profitable.
