I cleared all delves on my char, but the worst thing isn't player who kills me, but waiting 30 minutes for each boss to respawn.

if only it was 30min. my nightblade waited i think about 8hrs for one. not in one session but each session was around 2-3hr wait time while other bosses respawned like 5 times.

yeah.. what was the name of that one?... it was the one where there could be 3 different boss spawns, and you just had to wait for RNG to decide that the one you needed would show up>

Long time ago I used to ignore enemy players and only attack back if being attacked first, but last time I did that, the AD player that I was trading emotes with inside the delve just jumped on me as soon as other two AD's showed up. Since that day I learned the lesson that you can't read people's minds so I don't ignore them anymore and go for the kill before they try to kill me, the only exception being while they are stuck in the skyshard animation. So expect PVP in a PVP zone lol

That's a coward.. pure and simple. We need to be able to name and shame... there should be shame.

I get if a defacto detente or truce was agreed to, it's at the least cheesy to break that agreement/truce - but I wasn't there and don't know if this fits that case or not.

But you're going way, way overboard here.

    Coward? Shame?

Since when is waiting for adequate reinforcements before going on the offensive a cowardly or shameful thing? Are you under the illusion we're all back pre-Agincourt and knights of chivalry 1-1 combat?

[Insert your national military force here[ - ask them if having superior firepower and numerical forces is good/bad, cowardly / shameful.

The counter reply that makes most sense to refute the above, playing devil's advocate to my own statement above, is this is just a game, it's not real life, so real life analogy like this doesn't apply. Which is totally true. But if so, then what's the outrage about and needing to name and shame?

Either you really do believe this is coward / name-shame worthy in which case how real life combat works should apply equally, or it's just a game, who cares - and the point is moot.

I'm no PVP guru, but you play nice right up until yer buddies show up, then you decide to "break bad" when you didn't have the *** to before?... where I'm from yer a coward plain and simple... heck, might even be a textbook example. Cowardice is shameful. Now had he played nice and ran away, then came back with his buddies, maybe that's a different context.

I have feelings about some form of "truce" mechanism for certain circumstances in Cyrodil (will never happen). I like these examples of a"truces" that rarely occur, breaking them should have consequences... it's a "social contract" if you will.

By the way, a "moot point" is one worthy of discussion... commonly misunderstood tho:

Yep it's annoying to get killed in a delve, just respawn and go to another delve or delves for a while then go back. Not the end of the world to get killed in a PvP zone.

I've done all of the Cyro delves on at least 4-5 characters. Yep, got killed sometimes, killed them sometimes and cooperated with them other times it just waited for them to leave.

You want those shards, be brave and do it.
No to faction locking delves or PvE only Cyro.

No. It’s part of the danger excitement. PVE content is already massive and Cyrodiil has bigger issues to worry about.

Signed, player of both PVP AND PVE.

I expected this to be an irrational whine thread about being killed while doing pve in a pvp zone, but I actually think the OP has a valid point. If attacked, you should at all times have the chance to defend yourself, even if you would die to a better player anyway. Being stuck in an animation like that should give you invulnerability for the duration.

That's PvP though, there isn't a pause button. Sometimes I'm checking the map or charging a weapon and get killed, that's on me for doing it when there are enemies around. There's no love in PvP, grab the shard when it's safe.

But the difference is that you can close your inventory or map, and defend yourself of you are fast enough. The skyshard animation is not able to be cancelled. Maybe that would be an even better solution, to make it 'cancelable'.

If I'm correct, when you do get hit it breaks the animation. I've seen it happen just with normal mobs hitting me. But again, no one is going to wait for your toon to finish the animation to attack. Me, I would leave them alone but that's me. Do you expect them to let you finish the animation, drink a potion and switch the correct tool bar, then you tell them okay I'm ready to fight now?

Listen, don't make up all these extra things like drinking a potion and switching bars. That's never what I implied. All I'm saying is the game shouldn't prevent you from fighting back when you know you're being attacked. Trust me I am the last one to choose the side of those that ask for pve only content in cyrodiil.

    Cyrodil...
...or "how I learned to stop whining and live with the (inevitable) gank!" :p;)

Getting ganked on your way to clear the dwelves is part of the experience. Sometimes it sucks, big time. Sometimes you are the one doing the ganking. Sometimes you try it, but find out you foolishly attacked someones whose PvPness is bigger then yours and then you end up tasting... defeat.

All part of the warzone feeling that is cyrodil.

    Stop worrying about it.

If you get ganked, you respawn, you go do some other dwelve, you go back finish that dwelve some other time. Yes, that means a lot of time spent sneaking through enemy territory towards it. Yes that does mean several attempts for some of the dwelves. Yes that means more time in PvP land.

    Deal with it.
I did, and lemme tell you, I certainly am no better then "adequate" at PvP the most! Meaning, I got to respawn a LOT before I had every dwelve done.

If you let go of that insane "it should be easy for me" idea, and just go with the flow, you might actually even have fun getting killed now and then. Some of the fights I had were like that, long drawn out battles where the enemy was just better. Others of course were more like "Oh, its so peacedul and qu... akkk! Waitwhut, I am dead? How'd that happen? How did that guy do 40K damage in a mere moment? What killed me, skill, lag or hax?" but if you refuse to get all worked up about it and just carry on gaming, its really no big deal. It helps to inwardly laugh at people who take PvP too seriously.
