It encourages you to branch out to other aspects of the game, @altemriel.

    That's insane.

People enjoy what they enjoy. They don't enjoy what they don't enjoy, and if a game tries to encourage / force people into doing things they don't enjoy, the most likely outcome is that they just stop playing.

I'd be amazed if anyone finds crafting writs to be enjoyable.

Instead of baiting various playstyles in game how about just a suggestion to buy it straight up with gold....from like an elite furniture vendor or something.

YOU WILL LITERALLY BE ABLE TO BUY IT OFF OTHER PLAYERS FROM GUILDSTORES IF THESE ITEMS FOLLOW TEL VAR AND VOUCHER TRADITION.

How many times does this need to be stated?

Same for PVPers in the Tel-var section.

Yeah no respect or sympathy for the OP here.

Crafters dont exist, they are just players doing a thing that any other player can do, quit acting like it’s a serious life career.

Crafters have to spend a significant amount of time to get all of the required passives and research, have to spend significantly more time than any other player managing inventory space, are much more pressured into spending 15$ a month for the craft bag, and face a monumental gold investment for motif pages.

So no, not everyone can be a crafter that's actually worth anything.

No they dont. I’m no crafter but I know every trait on every item, have hundreds to thousands of materials, know a tonne of motifs, every crafting passive. It took me no additional time other than 5 minutes here or there while waiting for group finder to pop and by just playing the game.

So much whine. You can join least crowded campaign and farm telvar by killing mobs. Since you can bank it there is no risk you will lose huge amount of it. 1k telvar is needed to have 3x multiplier, what is enough to farm. X4 with 10k telvars is only for hardcore farmers with imperial physique.

I don't know the real price points...

But lets say they want but if they were to offer the large chest for 1800 crowns, then the conversion to vouchers would probably be 500 vouchers(based on the crown to voucher ratio from transmutation station)

That would put a gold cost on them around 500k(@1 voucher for 1k ) if bought with vouchers and sold for gold.

Which would mean telvar should be around 250k.

I start with crowns because that's where the conversions should start. What do you think ZOS will want to charge in crowns? Honestly I think they'll be going for a bit higher than my example.

Or if you want to use the conversion they use for homes, 3.8m for 11k crowns is 1 crown for 345 gold. If the item was 1000 crowns it would be 345k gold. Or if in the example above they used the price point of 1800 crowns it would end up being 621k gold.

If they added a gold option other than purchasing from other players(assuming that is even possible), it's not going to be cheap.

by the time OP made this post he/she could have started researching. People avoid crafting like the plague. It’s not like you have to stand at an Anvil for 9 hours straight. Press a button and bam, go about your way.

I don't understand the avoidance of crafting. It's one of my favourite aspects of the game, that it's not just combat-based and there's the opportunity for player interactions to help each other out...

I don't like having to keep track of my research timers, and then having to log in when they expire. It's too much commitment for a video game.

    Then start farming gold.

    You can:

    - Buy them with writ vouchers
    - Buy them with tel var stones
    - Buy them with crowns
    - Buy them with gold

You aren't getting them for free.

I appreciate that not everyone will purposefully log in to maintain crafting, and I don't do that either to be honest. However it doesn't take too much extra to port to the nearest city and check on what you have that you could research before/after you've done what you logged in for. All it means is that the master crafter achievement will take a while to reach, but it's not unattainable.

Sounds an awful lot like those who are amazed anybody can find overland questing fun... or PVP or whatever in-game scrathc that hits an itch they dont have.

I think you might be using "enjoyable" as a synonym for "exciting".

i find writs quite enjoyable and relaxing, just like i find using those proceeds to furnish my houses in-game. Most of the time they are a relaxing pastime and movement towards goals when i do not want the furious nature of a dungeon or such. think of them as the "watching reruns of a show you liked" version of ESO and you might see how some can enjoy them.

Well see this is where i have a serious mental disconnect...

we are talking extra storage right?

    extra storage beyond:
    buying you horse storage up.
    buying more bag slots
    buying more bank slots.

So, sorry but to me i do not see adding a new way to get some additional storage in houses but not making it quick for casuals who dont want to spend a lot of gold, play pvp for telvar or do higher end crafting is some knife in the side of casuals.

you can get lots of non-active storage chests and crates for houses - not that expensive.

you can gets lots of easy to get storage slots - hundreds - by the above mentioned methods esp given multiple characters - the easiest and cheapest way to do it.

So the total 360 slots from housing storage is nothing that i would see casuals getting shived levels of upset over.

Seems like an outrage in search of an affront to me.

In case you are one of the aforementioned new players: There is a cp cap to reach, skyshard achievements, Cyro rank grind, trait research. To name a few things to work towards that you may not be aware of. Once they got that done they can make a case on these forums about how they desire a challenge in the form of inflated prices.

Thanks for making it obvious why this thread is pointless, crafting is a thing ANY other player can do. Not only that, op is under the impression that they should be sold for what 20k? That's peanuts and can be made in less than an hour. If they were to be sold for gold the price would more than likely be in the six figure range, probably a minimum of 200k.

I'm still gathering my motifs, doing more research (nearly done imo) but if this thing is going to be for real for master writs, then they need to increase the odds of RNG on those first! Its not fun when you need 200, and only get writs for 2 each.

And that is the point of how it is set up now. By design people are meant to be funneled to the crown store.

There's no way I'll ever buy from a guild store. But I may end up doing vouchers or telvar, if I just happen to have enough. As to the OP, I would think that he would like to buy from a vendor. Personally so would I.

The chances are incredibly high you will be able to buy the collectibles for gold from guild traders as many people here have pointed out.

That still does not seem to appease you as you can not control the cost?
You understand that if ZOS made an in game gold option you wouldn't be able to control that cost either? Above and beyond that it would almost certainly cost more than what the community would eventually sell them for (ignoring any initial high prices).

What about, as an additional option, being able to get them as a semi-rare drop while fishing? Like, instead of a fish you pull a storage container (with some fish inhabitants) out of the water. ;)

We already have those gunny sacks after all, so why not add some more former ship equipment gone overboard? ;)
