The class is dead. But the real question is... Why is nobody giving a ***?

I've been away from the game because I am a Templar player and I do not enjoy other classes as much and so I thought: let's not rage about it anymore, they messed it up, some months and it'll come back.

Well, it didn't happen. It is ridiculous. Nobody cares.

Templars are pretty decent. Certainly not the best, but they're alright. Kinda similar to magdk

I have two templar characters currently and enjoy the hell out of both of them. Perhaps it is your idea of what a templar should be that is the cause of your problem?

edit: wait. i know what you're talking about. i had the kill templar quest in cyrodil today and scratched off like 9 in 2 seconds. i guess yeh, they are dead.

Templar arent dead overall. Templar healer and stammina DPS Templar work still really good. However Magplar DPS is just bad atm, same as MagDK.

Main reason why magplar is horrible is because multipliers arent fixed (like they got fixed on NB) and its nor really sustainable anymore (like MagDK outside of raids)

@eserras7b16_ESO This! The scaling for stuff like jabs & Jesus beam was broken a while ago, so the two main dps skills took a hit, but they are being fixed in Dragon Bones... Patch notes should be out tomorrow so keep an eye out

I wouldn't mind some QoL, but saying they're dead is inaccurate.

True they're not dead but it is a major issue that hasn't been addressed for 8 months. Also there's a lot of skills wich have no use on the game because they're not well designed. There has been plenty of ideas coming from templar players in the past, but most changes for now has been for the worst. It is a bit frustrating and seeing nobody on the forums complains about it anymore made me upset.
There's people here pointing out that there's this multipliers that aren't being fixed on the next patch, hopefully true!

I'll xD hopes aren't high because we've got a large history of "fixing", but i'll check for sure. It is just that I checked forums and nobody is even mentioning this issue, i hoped seeing an official post about it or an open big discussion but there's none. Pretty surprising considering the situation. And I felt like, well, i'm going to open up the discussion and see what people sais about this multiplier scaling thing and the current state of templar abilities. Well, you can see how it went. There's only 2-3 of you that acknowledge the issue.

We'll see on PTS if i'll be able to play the magplar again like i used to or not, hopefully yes!.. because i want to come and check and play on the new content so bad!

stamplar is in a strong spot.
magplar has scaling issues which will be solved, and that scares me a lot.

I may add....stamplar is only strong bc it's a stamina build. In the end it suffers from the same bugs magplars do, but are still excepted bc Stamina-DPS is just so much higher than magicka DPS and the increase overall DPS with their normal rotation.

PvP-wise i guess templars are fine...it's just those bugs which kills magplar-DPS in PvE.

can somebody explain to me the scaling issue that some skills are having at the minuet..i u understand they are not hitting for what they should be but I'm not sure as to why

I honestly wouldn't care less about PvE.
Everything is good in PvE if you're not a leaderboard tryharder.

for PvP, stamplars are sitting in a lot better spot than previous patches, and next patch they might even be better.
I'm even considering to make one myself.

For magplars, Im just sick and tired of seeing healbots healing 40k hp Dks.
I just don't want to go back to the days of jesus beam spam. I'm all in for more magplars but I just don't want more of the beam spamming zerglings...

The damage multiplier from Jabs (+ 140% to nearest target) and from radiant destruction (20% + damage when full magicka) are supposed to be multiplicatice with CP, group buffs and such things.
Atm they are additive. E.g. on my stamplar, jabs get like 90% bonusdamage to nearest target when playing solo, this will get further dimished when playing in a group.

Scaling issues and low lockdown/mobility means they are eh for openworld solo. But they are still best support+healers.
