Do they need max magicka? Spell power? Critical?

What sets are the most recommended? Sets that gives more magicka? Spell power? Spell penetration?

Sets with orientation to enhance damage like julianos and Spinners or sets that gives sustain like Amber plasm or shacklebreaker?

I'm very confused to prepare my sorcerer for pvp. My first idea is to combine julianos with Spinners with DW in one bar and a destro staff in another, but I don't know how this will affect my damage, my shield and my regeneration. I'm mean theoretically my damage should be boosted but that depends how the skills like for example cristal fragments scale, if it is poor then makes no sense focus in aggressivity.

I don't know if you get my point... that's why I would like to hear some good tips from experienced players with magicka sorcerers in pvp. My goal would be single targets deletion xD

there is several viable builds for sorcs.

you can go like 2pc monster + 5pc amber/shackle on the body + 3pc willpower + master destro + random resto.

you could also run something like 1pc domihaus + 5pc amber/shackle 5pc riposte + master destro staff. in that case you run riposte resto and only get the 5pc riposte on backbar which however is totally fine.

if you dont have master destro you could go something like 1pc domihaus + 5pc amber/shackle + 5pc riposte

the 3rd one is considerably weaker tho since ZOS decided to remove the stun from frags so you´re forced to run destructive clench/reach as you dont have a proper CC otherwise and the buff it gets from using a master staff is absurdly strong.

other sets to consider are lich/spinners/alteration. however those have kinda dropped out of the current meta abit. that doesnt mean they are useless tho.

i would recommend to not run DW.

furthermore on mag sorc(or any class that relies on shields to survive) max magicka >>> spell dmg. also dont run julianos in pvp. its not totally awful but you already have minor and major crit buffs as a sorc(minor from dark magic passives iirc and major from potion) and crit chance in general isnt that great in pvp as most ppl run rly high crit resist. its generelly better to have high base dmg instead.

You should not be giving advice if you seriously believe crit isn’t great or worth amping to an extent.

to an extend yes but julianos is abit too much on sorc as you can get to like 45% (buffed) without it already. its better to just stack alot of magicka at that point as that will help your shields aswell as your dmg..

Actually it's not too much. With surge it allows you to be more offensive due to the crit healing. Also you need to crit. Frankly the sorc burst isn't what it used to be. Even with impen, crits still matters. Only problem with Julianos is there is zero sustain with that set. Adding Amberplasm as your secondary helps a lot but recovery is still alittle low. Really good if you have a pocket healer though.

uhm sorc burst is perfectly fine if you time it properly. if you time your destructive clench/reach+procced frag with curse and follow up with light attacks+execute+implosion procs thats alot of dmg. also crit heals are fine but honestly if you rely on crit heals to stay alive your not shielding well. the only time you should ever have to heal is after taking a big burst and healing ward + hardened ward + some healing from crits is more than enough so you dont rly need to have 55%+ crits. most builds rely on ultimates for big bursts and you have some time to heal up till the next burst window opens and you wont die from normal pressure aslong as you keep your shields up no matter how your hp looks anyways.also if you´re outnumbered so severely that shielding becomes inefficient 10% more crit heals wont help you either. thats where you should be streaking away to split them up in which case more magicka or even more mag regen is infinitely worth more than more crit. and lastly there is the sustain issue that you already noted. all this combined simply make shackle or amber a much better choice than julianos in pvp.

Sorc burst is not fine. It's in a much worse place than it was months ago. I just don't think you're a place to making blanket statements as facts. It's not terrible but far from where it was due to having to run much more sustain now. Also I never said even with that much crit that you don't apply shields. But I'm saying you'll spend less time having to use healing ward. And in the last sentence makes no sense. I literally said combine juli with amber lol.

you just dont run julianos at all. you run either shackle or amber combined with 1 pc domihaus and master destro staff with wizards riposte on back bar. extremely tanky build with more than enough dmg to burst ppl down. without the master staff its kinda weak tho as it helps both with dmg and sustain. without master destro staff you´re kinda better off running an offensive set instead of riposte but even then its much better to go something like necro instead of julianos as the huge magicka boost helps with shields aswell and is way more valuable than the crit from julianos.

I'm very aware of the meta build. I prefer Lich instead of wizards. But it's literally th most common build right now. Lol. No need for your "in depth" description. I get that. I'm saying amber juli and master is more damage. I stated you needed a pocket healer.
