Nightblade - stam and mag

my stamblade is at 50 and magblade is close. One thing i noticed about most builds is they have grim focus on the bars and honestly i dont get it.
On the stamblade if you don't have much of an issue with stamina that seems useless. Yes you get 8% dmg bonus but the damage of the skill sucks i find and you lose damage building up the arrow. Why wouldn't you go with hidden blade where you get a 20% boost, more damage and aoe if you choose the one morph.

on magblade again, all you get is an 8% dmg boost and the damage i find is still not that good. again, you are losing damage activating the bow with light attacks. if you are dual wielding - again you can use hidden blade, if using staves then sap essence seems to be the better choice with spell power, aoe damage, heal you and allies.

what am i missing?

The Bow prix from this skill is the hardest hitting non ultimate single target skill in the game.

If you're spamming light attacks to get your bow proc you're doing it wrong. You should be weaving light attacks between your skills already on any class, the bow proc (which hits extremely hard and is a free cast) is just a perk for the NB class.

I never see it hit near as hard as any of my other skills. not even remotely close.

I've seen merciless resolve hit over 50k.

Like Danksta said, weave your light attacks in between your ability casts. Doing this will add tons of dps, and allow you to fire the bow at no additional time to charge.

i figured out why I think it did little dmg, the initial hit doesn't do much and there is a small delay before you see the real damage. I was using it in dungeons so the dmg was hidden a bit.
