Jarl's Deluxe Moot Regalia Dyes Poorly

This will come as a surprise to no one who's bought any costumes for the last year, but the Jarl's Regalia does not dye true. There are also several large undyeable areas, as per usual. Specifically, the boots, the bracers, the gold bits, and the black stripes will not dye. For myself these undeyable areas aren't so bad because they happen to match my characters' skin tone but I have no doubts that others will run into issues. The parts that you actually can dye do the thing where every color is dark as the inside of a boot and also way off its original hue. So you have that to deal with. Oh, and those blue stripes? The ones that look like Abyssal Beryl? Yeah those dye what is essentially just grayscale with slight brown elements. Like you can even try dyeing them Abyssal Beryl and it will still turn to mud. It's ridiculous.

Who do we have to go to in order to get these things changed? This is hugely disappointing since these costumes are otherwise so well designed. I am so sick of it!

Such a shame. When I saw the vivid base colors I actually had hope it would dye well.

ZOS is really screwing the pooch on costumes anymore. I guess when you try to monetize too many things at once you end up with even subpar monetization haha

for this costume or in general? in general, red you get from battlegrounds achievements is a vivid bright red (on most things that don't dye badly)

I'm surprised that people who intend to dye these costumes still buy them knowing fine well the issues surrounding almost all recent costumes. What's even more surprising than that is, people still come on here to complain like there's still an element of ambiguity surrounding the issue.

Come on people, stop buying the things until ZoS put a little bit more effort into the dye system. That's exactly how you get them to change things. Of course if you have no intention recolouring them, then all the above is a moot point.

There will always be people who will buy them, just don't be the person to do it then scratch your head at another poorly implemented costume as far as being able to dye it go. (not aimed at you personally as I know you're not really angry about it, but some repeat purchasers do get angry or pissed off with it)

For this costume, I like a lot of the reds normally.

Pity about this one, good looking costume (and the one channel that does dye well, the main fabric, looks real good!).

I'm glad to help the community out on this. I figure if I have almost all the dyes unlocked anyway I should put them to use. As for this costume, I actually did find the main channel disappointing. If you compare the coloration to something get out of, say, the Cyrod Patrician Formal Gown, it doesn't come anything close to the true colors. I mean look at that orange, it's brown! And the red is downright muddy!

The blood root red tends to dye things a true red end those dark elf dresses from summer.

Have you tried Bloodroot Wine? It comes out as bright orange on other costumes like the Telvanni dress, whereas Sigil Orange tends to come out more of a burnt orange. (But your Sigil Orange picture is... not promising.)

That's actually one of the few I DON'T have yet!

Sorry, gotta find a good time to do that on vet mode with my buds. I'm basically just missing that, the fishing ones, and the Battlegrounds ones, but they're all slowly coming along.

I don't buy dye stamps of any variety, so I don't know, but that would be pretty awful if it were the case. They should let us buy those dyes as permanent unlocks, that's the only way I'd buy them and then be able to test them. Most dye stamps, however, are just standard dyes I already have access to.

I don't understand why this is a thing lol so many costumes and a few armor styles dye terribly. One must wonder whether an intern simply rolled their face across the keyboard to create the lines of code necessary for that.

Sorry for the not great lighting, but this is what it looks like with Bloodroot Wine in every dye slot:

It's still orange, but on the bit that's blue by default, it's brown. Just like everything else.

Thanks a boatload!! Right, so it's like Abyssal Beryl in that still very vibrant on the main slot, but off its original color and lacking in the normal two-tone effect it typically has going on. How disappointing.

I'll admit that most dyes look terrible on this piece. However, I did manage to discover one dye that works nicely...Transliminal Violet makes it a rich shade of sapphire-violet. I dyed the collar Coldharbour Black and left the over-vest color alone. I'm actually pretty pleased with the result!

Also, imho this is the best of the dyes that are currently being offered. Dyeing the robe gold or grey just seems...anticlimactic, given how fancy it is. At least for this one, if you're going for a seafoam-green shade, it works.

the redguard gala overdress robe section dyes amazingly. I don't know why they don't make more outfits dye like it, especially robes - no dirty/dull material

I would have bought this but after the Telvani wizard costume turning out to be a waste of crown for this very reason, I'm not going to bother. I'm not buying any more costumes that can't be dyed properly
