outfit system completely based off learned motifs?

    Nope. If this had been a LOTRO-style system (saving the appearance of a piece of armour you actually own) or even if it wasn't imposing account-wide motif access then I would have been over the moon about it.

    How about, just for a little while, we focus on the positives instead of looking for the negative impact?

    Is it perfect? No.
    Will it please everyone? No.

    But they're giving us a heck of a lot to work with, far more than anyone was expecting, and it might be worth spending some time to appreciate that before going out of your way to find problems that may not even exist.


    Personally, I'd far rather this system than changing every individual armour piece. Just on my main, I've got 5 sets that I switch around and I'd have to pay to alter every single one. Plus, if I wanted a different look for my PVP and PVE gear but used the same monster shoulders I wouldn't be able to match it to both - and if I changed the appearance of my fancy monster set the original appearance would be lost. With this system I can just buy another outfit slot and switch between looks on the fly and if I decide to show off my shoulders after all I just take out the style from that slot :)

    Once people get their collection finished (and many already have), the motif frenzy will be over, and motifs will be worth even less than what they currently are, since the crafting needs for specific motifs has just gone out the window.

    I predict a frenzy spike in motif prices for a short while, followed by a plummeting of motif prices until they are even lower than what they currently are.

    If you are patient, you can save your gold and wait for the inevitable plummet.

    Good point. I guess I’ll wait then and only buy specific chapters I might need for a particular look.

    yes, and in this case, the specific issue is that the outfit system is exclusively for motif collectors.

    If you are not a motif collector, the outfit system is completely useless. I will have very limited options for outfits.

    I didn't see this mentioned, but i would suggest using the eso fashion site. This will give a preview of all motifs in game, if you haven't known about this already.

    Shame that this is based off crafting motifs only, so no making costumes out of unique armor pieces or the clothes you can steal from containers in town.

    I have a master crafter who knows almost all the motifs, im currently working on the last three, bloodforge, dreadhorn and militant ordinator. so this is gonna be awesome
