I spent 400k on motifs as soon as the live stream ended.

well if its true that you need motifs to use the outfit system than I am completely disappointed
outfits will be useless for me. That's really too bad they made it this way.
I was hoping it would be like other games where you can learn an appearance from an item which I think would have been much better.
Its just the new and hard to get motifs who are expensive. the original ones outside of imperial is 100-200 gold each.jasonthorpeb14_ESO wrote: »Better start learning motifs man.

It's not the devs fault you didn't take initiative to learn motifs.
Should have allowed players to craft custom costumes as collectables *and* sell them. I’m surprised this system has released without adding more value to those who know like every style in the game.
Personally it wouldn’t benefit me but this just seems like a missed opportunity imo.

Think this is the first step in the system. It could open up to more styles as they work it out.

initiative? more like there was no motivation to learn motifs. All the CP160 gear my characters wore was monster or dropped sets with no way to change the appearance. motifs had no use till now except to sell for gold. I guess this will be great for collectors.

I think it makes quite a bit of sense this way, rewards crafters who haven’t really seen much appreciation and breathes new life into the motif market.

No, it doesn't. This change means that people will buy a motif on one character (probably a crafting alt) and then will never touch that motif ever again.
In the short term this will lead to an increase in motif sales as people fill in gaps (if they haven't already got the ones they wanted already because... they are the ones they want) but in the long term this is likely to lead to fewer motif sales overall.

It would be horrible if my main character who wasn't interested in styles himselves before - now would be supposed to learn all that expensive styles.

I’m away on vacation. By the time I get back all of the good stuff will be gone ._.
I think it's a good start if they alluded to improving it over time. I think people just enjoy complaining about anything and everything
