Nothing baffling about it, for some people this part of the quest is just insanely difficult.

I can´t complete it either, due to suffering a stroke earlier this year and not being able to use my right hand. The left hand just doesn´t have enough control, so I´m stuck with not doing the quest. Unfortunately this probably blocks progressing the zone quest...

If you think it's fun by itself, try doing it on Cadwell's Silver where at least half of the markers have a VR1 imp hovering over them. On top of that, I have a nearly 50% crit rate and I've never managed to one-shot one of the little beasts. They seem to be insulated against crits.

The first "marker" is the only one that I can see!! So in which direction should I run -- clockwise or counterclockwise?? (Note: the "video" that was embedded in the OP is no longer available.)

From where my character stands in front of the quest-giver, I can barely see the first "marker". Frankly, I did not recognize it as a "marker" of anything. I simply moved my character toward it to see whether it was a mirage, i.e., a fluke in the way that the hardware displays the backgound of the sky and the water around the island. When I was close enough to see it distinctly, it seemed to be a column of blue light that disappeared when my character stepped into it.

Choosing the pale blue color for the column "marker" is either (1) a stupid mistake on the part of the quest implementor(s) or (2) an assinine decision -- and not the only one in the game, unfortunately -- because it blends into the background. The color should be bright red or yellow instead.

On one side of the column there is some sort of hurdle with a board on a boulder next to it. Apparently, the character is supposed to run up the board to jump over the hurdle through the column of blue light. With the ESO console game interface, I don't see how that is possible for me, at least, to do.

After countless hours of playing the game (my character is pursuing Cadwell's Silver), I still cannot use the reticule in combination with the keys to position my character in any exact place, or with any exact facing, or to make any specific movement. It is impossible to literally control the character -- i.e., to move my character where I want it to be, facing the direction in which I want it to face. For example, it is impossible to turn the character in place, except to turn the character about-face 180 degrees to move away from the direction that I am looking. This UI just doesn't work for me.

If Cadwell's Silver and/or Cadwell's Gold are not actually required to continue with playing the game otherwise, then I am beginning to think that I should simply abandon them. If they are required in any way, then I should be playing some other game instead of wasting money, time and effort with ESO.

You have to make sure you complete all the check marks.

I had been trying to make it back to Varustante in her original location, but the last marker in the race is slightly out of sight to the right, and once you reach it, she shows up there.
