Maybe a little bit. Like slightly less rude than not holding the door open for someone. As long as it's just you running over them because they happened to be between you and your destination. Nothing to get in a tizzy over.

Now, if you're going out of your way to run over them again and again and again, that's a different story.

I never thought it might be interpreted as rude...unless you run through a group of players that all look organized in such a way as to be ready for a screenshot or something.

I have a habit of jumping over players (and attempt to jump over NPC's) though.

But I do find myself going around others but fixing walls and doors is sometimes awkward

I notice most people will twitch to the side to avoid riding over/through me if I'm standing on a path. Some don't care. Even doing dolmens and riding to wayshrines, I notice people don't seem like being ridden over, and will move aside. Some people probably do it subconsciously, but it seems even in a virtual world most don't like their "space" invaded.

I think it's lazy rather than rude to ride over/through people. I prefer to ride past people, but on a horse sometimes people run into me before I get the chance to move aside. I guess part of my brain imagines I just crushed them under my horse.

If I'm on an "evil" character I'll ride over and through people quite happily. I guess it's an immersion thing.

I rarely travel on the roads so I'm never really in this situation, I don't think it's rude though. If someone gets upset because of this, then they need to take some time out from the game.

There is a reason why there is no character collision. So that you can ride over or through them.

No, it's not rude. It's a game and this is one of it's features. No character collisions with other players so you can run through them.

But other players really do not exist for me (except dungeons and trials). Why should I care?

I'd say have at least the common curtesy of doing it with a rare mount :P

No. If there was collision, I might feel differently.

I unconsciously avoid bumping into people this includes riding, but it's not something i expect others to do as well and i don't really mind even when i'm in "role-play" mode. Although i have noticed a few people doing it as well but by far very scarcely.

You can dodge roll through them.

Because dismounting and dodge rolling through random 'flavor' (e.g. non-combat / not a quest / vendor) NPCs would be so much faster.

Not a big deal - but like every other game I play or have played had no collision on non-combat flavor NPCs, so it's just a small annoyance in ESO in the 'oh yeah can't run through NPCs here' when I get stuck behind a group of NPCs.

No but I guess human nature takes over for me bc I still find myself moving to the side 99% of the time to avoid people
