I do occasionally send the odd "kek" or Tbag to failed gankers/outnumber players to which they often do hate PM, but I supposed thats provoked.

I dont make first contact, but if someone messages me with hate tells, I will run my mouth and seek them out, and do whatever I can to stress them out. I didnt mean for that to rhyme.

not everyone pays attention to what happens in PVP, who you fight, their names or gameskills. You shouldnt always get everything personal. Some people are just there to play with their friends, have fun. But yeah some do take everything very seriously or think they are the best player or only pro players should be in pvp or whatever... and if they are killed it is not because the opponent was better, it is becuase they are cheating, zerging etc. afterall they are the best player in the world (!) ... like everybody care only how good someone is with their fighting skill, we wouldn't have tanks, healers if this was all about fighting skills of a single person.

How about whispers like "wow mate nice gameplay, enjoyed, thanks" or "would like to learn from you" or "what do you think I did wrong or you did better" or "sorry for zerging, dont take it personal, well played" etc... No?

Respect is the key for everything and you are a good player if you are respected for the way you play and behave, otherwise you are just a sad story and I am really sorry for you.

I get them all the time from people who hate shield-stacking, pet-herding Sorcs, and I send them frequently to tea-bagging zergers and scummy gankblades.

Before I took a break when Morrorwind came out I used to get hate messages all the time even a few death threats here and there and the always funny "imma DDOS you and get your IP and hack your account her der" its funny cause most of these guys are like 12 years old that say this me all in all other than the disturbing death threats the pure salt of some people was great fun to read.

My only assumption is that people take their losses so personally that they feel the need to make an excuse or try to rationalize to themselves why someone else killed them, so insulting the person that killed them makes them feel better about it. How people get this Hateful over a game will always baffle me... but unfortunately hate tells will always exist. You just hit em with a "lol" or a "kappa" and move on.

Usually they start by sending something toxic, realize I'm a nice person and ask for my build. I'm not nice enough to give a potent made-from-the-ground-up build away to toxic players though.

I don't so much get hate tells as I sometimes catch complaints from small group/gankers. I've learned two things: dead players have a hard time estimating the number of players who kill them. (A dozen players suddenly equals our entire faction.) And two, some players like to gank on the main highway and then complain when they get run over.
