They just need to both be removed. Of course we know now why they held onto them, to move crowns. But come on. Who seriously spends crowns on these things?
Ehh..Ive sunk quite a lot of gold into about 9 characters so far. 6 of which are now capped out and 3 that are about half way to cap. Ive spent something close to, probably more, 337,500 gold on mount upgrades. And Id be expecting a substantial refund if this was ever changed. Thats months logging in I wont be getting back. All so someone else can just skip that without paying for it either in time or money? No.
in other words, "i have suffered so instead of wanting it to be better for those who come after me? i want EVERYONE to suffer."
not to mention. its the equivalent of asking for refund for individually bought DLC's after they were bundled into pack of 4 that is significantly cheaper than original costs.
I have capped 8 characters and close to capping 9. if they change it so that it doesn't take so bloody long and the speed, etc is shared, you know what i will do? applaud wildly and maybe even roll another alt.
In what way is this making it better? Is it really better or is it just easier?
Because from my point of view theres nothing inherently wrong with the current system. Its just time and gold consuming. It ensures that if you dont want to spend RL money, youll be logging in once a day for 6 months. So its not just a gold sink, and a money making scheme. Its also a method of promoting player activity.
And honestly, its not like it takes all that long for your horse speed to jump. About the 40 day mark, if youre spending your gold in the speed branch, your speed will bump up enough that you wont feel as if youre going slow anymore. That right there ensures over a month of daily activity.

Mount speed should be the same. Stamina and Storage should be purchased or increased daily. You obviously don't understand that increased mount speed will encourage More people to play more often.
Logging in every day for 6 months is not a thing for us working people. You can buy lessons yes, but for speed you should not have to. Stamina and Storage yes you should continue to pay for.

Will it encourage people? Is it really a sticking point when people say they dont want to play the game? Because Ive heard a lot of complaints about the game and this is only a issue brought up by people on this forum. I never hear old players that quit complain about horse training. Never. And considering I have a thread here on these forums right this moment that directs people to a comment made by Matt that states the game is now pulling 2.5 million players in monthly activity. I think youre overselling what you want as being some highly demanded player change. The only people this change would impact are those who have alts. Which is probably not something the masses take part in. They create a character, maybe another. But most of the time a single character is all they have time for or interest in.
What youre telling me is that youre doing this to yourself. You create alts you dont have time to play. And then act as if its ZOS fault that you are terrible at time management and burdening yourself with the right amount time consuming activities.

60 points total was back in 1.0, collections introduced the 180 point system but it shares between all mounts on that character. So he was right it is 6 months per character mostly every day if you don't use store bought or crown crate scrolls.

It's 60 speed, 60 inventory, and 60 stamina, 180 points total on a 20h cd so close to 6 months

I've stated in other, similar threads that I think that each mount's speed/stam/bag should be account bound, however each different mount should have to be trained independently.
Example - Brown Sorrel Horse (BSH) is at 60/60/60 on character 1, all other characters should be able to access BSH and have it be fully trained. However, if you elect to purchase a Rainbow Brite Guar (RBG), you will now have to train it up for 180 days to get the same effect. Theoretically since the mounts are account bound, you're just accessing the same mount at your account stable (different rider - same mount), but why should a completely different mount be fully trained just because a certain rider sits on top?
That's my opinion anyway.
All of Cyrodiil just facepalmed. They do need an option to grind it faster. Like some sort of daily. Otherwise mount speed isn't really a big deal.
I think we should have the option of buying multiple at a time. Like say I only had the good for 30 speed that day, buy it and have to wait 20 hours to do so again. Or buy all at once if I have enough gold.

No no no... I've already maxed out my toons in pretty much everything. Also when I make a toon, it sits at the stable for months until it's ready to ride fast. That is months of time I could have been lvlig up other things and buying crown items associated with that toon. Many other people I talk to in eso agree with me. Some don't... but yes it is a majority rules here.
My solution is a good one. I've spent the time and money already. You just trolling trying to hinder change. There is nothing wrong with faster mount speed. It will encourage people to use their alts and spend more crowns on things for that alt. Virtually and from a marketing standpoint. No money would be lost. Adding more items to the crown store for us to buy too is just a great idea all together if they really concerned about losing out on speed lesson money.
Just because players like us who have been playing a long time don't want things to be any different doesn't mean you'll get what you want or a refund for your 250 gold pieces a day of that mount speed.

LMAO. So because Im in disagreeance with you Im trolling? Well if that doesnt automatically invalidate anything you have to say. But Ill be nice and instead of reporting you for baiting. Ill simply point out how absurd you are.
You say many people agree with you on this topic, and that somehow means theres a majority rule here. Let me explain something to you. This is not a democracy. And you havent spoken to a majority of players. Even if you had an account on every platform and server. You havent spoken to nearly enough people to ever claim that you have a majority backing you.
You say that faster speed will encourage people to play alts and spend more money. I challenge you to back that up with facts....Wait. Considering the "I talk to a lot of people" nonsense I take that back. Dont back it up. We both know this is just as nonsensical as the first statement. Plenty of people are spending money right this moment. No need for Horse Speed to be gifted to alts. Heck, I spend money on alts all the time. Im all about that Fantasy Barbie. Each one of my 14 alts has if not one, multiple Crown Store and Crown Crate costumes. And I dont need upgraded speed for my alts either. When Morrowind dropped I quickly created two new baby characters and slowly jogged across Vvardenfell. And I enjoyed every slow moment of it.
The only thing in this game that requires speed is PvP and that can be circumvented with Horse Crack. And I already stated that it takes you 40 days max to start really feeling the difference in upgrades for Speed. So you are purposefully leaving your alts stagnant for months, way more than necessary just so you can come on here and complain? Just so you can act as if ZOS has wasted your time? No one makes you park your alts and not touch them for months over some silly rule about being max speed. Thats all on you, not ZOS and not the game. There isnt a single thing in PvE that would demand you have max speed from the start. There has been at most 10 million players that have played this game and all of them have had to endure the 60 days to max speed. All of them were still able to access content and enjoy it. A lack of horse speed never prevented that.
Funny that you would end your comment talking about not getting what you want. Which is exactly what this sort of thread boils down to. You and everyone else that wants this to change is just going to have to accept that you arent going to get what you want. In this instance, what ZOS wants and what I am okay with align. I dont actually want a refund. Im okay with taking the time to upgrade my horses one at a time for 6 month periods. Because I play the game regularly and if I cant log in to upgrade for a day or a few. Its not going to kill me. The games not going anywhere and neither is my interest. Especially not over horse upgrades.
But you go right on ahead and have fun with that whole not touching alts til theyre fully upgraded silliness.
logging in to click on a vendor once a day is NOT playing, its NOT activity its a BOTHER. having to stop what you are doing becasue notification that your character's cooldown for mount leveling is up? is annoying.
why WHY are you totally ok with paying crowns to speed up the process... but not in game gold? why are you so stuck on this ridiculously unfun thing, when there are things in game that are actualy gameplay that encourage you to log in every day without hindering your fun on a small, yet insidious level?
it really stinks of "I suffered, so now you must suffer as well" and that is NOT a good reason - sorry, not sorry.

Otherwise If ZOS introduce this I won't use it, I can accept the 180 day delay I don't need to speed up. With a new character the horse riding 180 points sooner will finished than that character will explore all tamrielOther older characters' exploration more important

It's 60 speed, 60 inventory, and 60 stamina, 180 points total on a 20h cd so close to 6 months
do you comprehend english? what did i just say?

why WHY are you totally ok with paying crowns to speed up the process... but not in game gold? why are you so stuck on this ridiculously unfun thing, when there are things in game that are actualy gameplay that encourage you to log in every day without hindering your fun on a small, yet insidious level?
it really stinks of "I suffered, so now you must suffer as well" and that is NOT a good reason - sorry, not sorry.
You know what is also not a good argument? "I cant be bothered to spend less than 30 seconds upgrading my horse before I go out and adventure."

I didn't say I can't be bothered. I said its not fun. its a pointless interruption and a ridiculous time sink that doesn't improve the game in ANY WAY.
but it encourages you to log in every day! you say, no it punishes me for NOT logging in every day. you know what encourages me to log in every day? crafting writs. pledges. daily quests. becasue THEY ARE REWARDING. watching you mount upgrade at excruciatingly slow rate of 2 months per skill line (for the lack of a better word) is NOT rewarding. at best when you are finished its a "thank god this is over" moment. and because unlike daily quests and pledges and crafting writs, it DOES run out eventually when you finish mount leveling. its not even a good encouragement to continue to keep logging in. your argument? MAKES. NO. SENSE.
I understand the idea of paying for each individual character. that is NOT the problem. TIME GATE is the problem. on EVERY character.

You guys are failing to realize that zos sells mount training books in the CS. I doubt we will ever see a change.
