Yes. This is a insanely stupid feature which is a massive turn off to potential new players.
In no other MMO I've played (which is most of them) do you potentially lose half a year of time gated stuff like horse feeding and trait research if you choose to delete a character. You just have to level it and its crafting, which might take at most a week or two.
ESO requires you to make and commit to characters for the long haul. Insane.
Want to change a character for some reason? If you can't bear the AGONY of deleting all that time gated work and starting from scratch, your only option is to go play something else. I'm sure many have.
I actually want a slower mount on some toons, so I wouldn't want the speed to apply to all across the board.
Would be nice if they were maxed in Cyrodiil as keeping up with high level players with maxed out mounts can be quite the challenge.
I wouldn't mind a Cyro-only bonus for slower horses as that would improve game experience as this benefits the whole group. But otherwise, riding skills are conveniences and not necessary for gameplay. I don't see any need to change the current system just because people are lazy and whiny.
How about you make a poll asking whether ESO should make everything that takes months account wide instead?
CP is already account wide, now let's get horses and research and skyshards and lore books and etc.
They do need an option to grind it faster. Like some sort of daily. Otherwise mount speed isn't really a big deal.
Definitely. I think they make quite a bit of money on riding lessons though and thus won't change it. It's intended to be very annoying. I just leveled a stamblade for PVP and I'm very tempted to pay for the lessons as otherwise it takes freakin 4 months to max out the relevant stats. And omg are mounts slow at 0%.

You would had liked Mount feeding when game launched i presume, you have only 30 or 60 can't remember, item you could feed, between speed, stam and bag spaces, and only that so in 60 days your mount was fully leveled, want to get back to that? No respecting, had to chose, now you can lvl up 3 features all together, think twice before whining

it was one of the reasons I didn't subscribe past the first month, actualy. I remember those times. when some mounts were better then others. becasue it was 60 total mount points that you could invest, it was also per mount so people tended to have multiple mounts for different things and back then, gold was harder to make as well, than it is today (no fencing stolen goods, no daily crafting quests). the only reason i even had a mount at launch at all, was becasue I bought imperial edition that came with imperial horse. which was STILL functionally worse then one of the 40k gold mounts that used to come with 20 points in stamina, inventory, or speed.
yes it was awful. but today being not as awful? =/= actualy good. there is STILL room for improvement. time gating is too much. at the very least, let people level all three on the same day. still would take 2 bloody months to max out a horse, but at least its not 6 bloody months

No.
Oh, divines, NO!

Stop asking for even more account wide stuff!
We already got more then any other MMORPG I ever played with champion system, guild membership and bank!
And especially stop asking for something when it is that big a can of worms, with them selling crown riding lessons...

So I think that once you level up to max all your mount stats on one character, they should apply to all characters BUT be account bound. And judging by my own experience it would only increase time spend in game rather than decrease it.

because doing the character shuffle once a day to level their mount is playing the game, apparently? i would rather, you know.. actualy play the game then track the time, oh right time to relog and click on a vendor, to give them 250 gold.
So, you know, don’t?
I have 10 toons, 5 are at CP, maybe 6 have top speed, maybe 3 have to everything for riding. I feel no obligation to go and do dailies on all of them every day or max/min my trait research realisation curves. I play a game as and when I choose with each toon different doing its own thing... this isn’t a job or some game where you can ‘win’, the prize is the pleasure of playing and there is very little in this game that is locked behind a horse upgrade.
the pleasure of playing is not so pleasurable when my character is slow as molaces, gets knocked down if someone looks at them wrong and has 60 slots less worth of bagspace. like Code above - most of my characters set unplayed for MONTHS while I leveled their mounts. why? becasue when i tried playing them, i was not. having. fun. yes, it makes that much of a difference to me, especially after seeing how much nicer it is with fully upgraded mount.
I'm literally playing LESS game as long as my mount is not updated. quality over quantity, dude. there is nothing vurtuous about holding off fully upgrading mount for 6 months. there is a hell of a lot of a difference between being not having to wait for a fully upgraded mount for 6 month (or shelling out RL cash to speed up the process) and having say.. full cadwell's gold unlocked for account after doing it on one characters. logging in once a day to pay 250 gold to a vendor is NOT content. quests are content. dungeons are content. pvp, shard collecting, etc is counting. mount is just... a bother.
its nice and all that its not important to YOU. I am NOT you.
and to reiterate. I'm fine with paying gold. i'm just really really tired of waiting to pay that gold. which means fewer alts and as a consequence? less playing the game.

To be honest, PC players get all the skyshards and lorebooks for free. Would be nice to get something for the console folk as well.

I am not totally unsympathetic - maybe the solution to your specific hassle is some sort of Cyrodiil battle spirit for mounts?
Personally I just tend to avoid the direct routes from keep to keep while I'm leveling riding skills, adds a certain extra sense of danger knowing that I can't take even a single hit from a ganker so I need to be extra wary... and yes I swear when I get ganked.
Not averse to ways of speeding it up some either - maybe doing it so many straight days starts to speed up the frequency of training to the point where you get to train 2, 3 or even 4 times a day.... or maybe add a mount skill line (like for crafting) where you can get various perks including being able to train each of the 3 areas once per day plus other fun extras like mounts being able to swim so you don't have to dismount at every small puddle or a brief extra fast speed boost to avoid those tricky situations
I am all for creative solutions that make the game more satisfying and diverse - I am generally against the 'I did it one time now gimme it again!' mentality that gradually strips out actually playing.

No, horse training is the best daily incentive to log in and play.
Currently I have 8 fully trained characters and 4 which still needs some training, once I logged in I find plenty of other incentives to stay and play.

Why don't you get into writs and pledges then? Much more rewarding than clicking +.
