could different weapon stances be a thing?

anyone who has been around long enough may recall that ZOS changed weapon animations a while back, the most obvious of those being staves.

I think it would be kind of a neat addition to be able to change the base stance of weapons, that being:

draw / sheath (the animation, not the location, though it would be cool if this was a thing, greatsword or greataxe on hip like a normal sword, dagger sideways on your lower back, etc.)
idle
light attack
heavy attack

just as long as they didn't change anything with the actual times of animations (oh my god the rage if some animation let you ani-cancel faster or what not -_-)

ESO player since beta.
game got too disappointing.

I thought this was gonna be a post about stances as in one stance you do less light/heavy attack damage but get more resources back, vice versa, maybe a more defensive stance. But you mean just animations? I think you're right and people would find one animation you can cancel sooner than another, and that just becomes the meta for the players in the know.

I still think the destro stance is ridiculous. When they made all the characters movements more exaggerated (huge waste of time and resources imo), they really overdid it on destro. It looks like the characters are about to fall forward. Leaning forward does not equal aggressive, which I’m assuming was the idea.

I think it would be cool to have different animations to choose from. Also Id like to be able to choose how you stand like Orthodox (right hand dominant) or Southpaw (left hand dominant).

Actually, they had that in a game called Istaria. You'd have 3 "stances" you could be in while in combat. Red, blue, green. It was like rock/paper/scissors and you got special abilities based on what stance you were in. (http://istaria.wikia.com/wiki/Combat_Stance)

Red did more damage to players using green stance, but took more damage from players in blue stance
Blue stance did more damage to players in red stance, but took more damage from green stance
Green stance did more damage to players in Blue stance, but took more damage from red stance.

Using the same stance had no bonus/negative affect.

If its purely cosmetic, a staff "Stance" could hide the staff permanently and the spells would be thrown out of ones hand.

Maybe new posture-type stances could be added to the Crown Store in packs for 500 or 1000 crowns.
