@ZO$ have fallen silent. Again.

Why do so many people on these forums act like they're fighting a personal war against the very company whose game they're playing..?

My only complaint is about New Life festival. Unlike the previous year which was flawless, it has evident bugs. Most notably the timer bug and voiceover repetition in Alik'r Sprint challenge.

By the time they return from the holidays, the event will be over. Which is a shame, it's a great event and those issues should be easy to fix.

Has anyone else noticed that after an initial flurry of posts following complaints about their failure to reply to queries and issues, @ZO$ have gone quiet again?

Over the last four pages in recent discussions there is not one single new post from @ZO$ apart from a couple of the usual moderating ones. I didn't bother to go back further as it was too depressing.

Come on @ZO$, please do your job and respond to us, instead of constantly ignoring us.

Maybe they are just ignoring the same old whining over and over again.

Give constructive feedback rather than whining. If you see an issue in the game that you feel needs attention, explain the issue rather than whining about ZOS being quiet. They're probably busy too. Remember, they're only human.

They get bombarded with a ton of complaints and a lot of whining every day. They're probably sick of the constant whining too.

So what specific issue has you upset OP?

Or like many others are you just having a whinge because you're having/had a bad day?

Then let me explain :) . Nothing has upset me personally, Turelus. I've asked a few things in my time, such as more furnishing slots and fixing that fountain, and have got used to a silence from the other end. That is what happens on this forum. So I tend not to ask any more.

At this time I'm more upset on behalf of many others who have repeatedly and politely asked for a response of some sort from ZOS....many very reasonable issues or queries which would require just a one-liner to acknowledge that they had been heard. Or maybe if we are very lucky, a short explanation as to why they can or cannot do a thing that is being requested. I notice this especially in the housing section, but know it happens all over the forums.

Bear in mind that I came from another very lively game forum (Darkfall: New Dawn) in which the devs themselves answered virtually every question the playerbase had, and as such were well-respected, and had a very real relationship going with their clients. By no means were peoples' requests often implemented, and neither was it expected, but the point is that everyone felt that they were being listened to, and their ideas/concerns were being considered. So, as you may imagine, it was a bit of a shock to arrive here and find that this forum was the exact opposite. Now, as I said, I got used to this, but every day I see people pleading for a response, any response...just to be met with complete silence.

As I said in my OP, for a very little while (a few weeks ago) after a lot of people had complained about the ongoing lack of response to threads, ZOS briefly put out a small flurry of responses...I'm sure you remember it!....to the delight and encouragement of the forum. And then it all went silent again, and almost the only community rep posts were ones involving moderation for infringing TOS. Back to the same old same old. And that is what triggered me to write this OP.

I don't think people are being unreasonable in asking for some sort of response to issues which have been worrying and frustrating them for a long time, as long as they do so constructively and politely. Which most people do, on the whole. Yes, unfortunately there are a lot extremely negative and rude posts aimed at ZOS, and this is common to all game forums. Usually there is an element of truth in even these posts, and often they are born from the frustration of not being heard. Interestingly, these kind of posts didn't often happen on the Darkfall forums. People raged at each other, and were dealt with, but they never raged at the devs. There was no reason to.

Sorry, I'm waffling on a bit, and this is turning into a wall of text. But I just wanted to respond to your question, and at the same time maybe explain to others why I posted the OP in the first place. :)

@Turelus , I feel the same way as @Aurelle1 and have basically given up on them. Whatever relationship they envisioned with the customer, I think they pretty much have it. They keep us at a distance and talk to us only when it suits them, which it normally does not.

I think that is a huge mistake, and missed opportunity. I think that this comes back and bites them. I am sure they know this, and it is at those times when they trot out and get all chatty.

I am not sure what these forums really do to benefit them, at this point. It is sort of a playground for customers that are at a place where they cannot play the game. PTS only happens for a few weeks four times per year. It surprises me that they have not already moved us to the Bethesda forums.

Some people being rude on a message board shouldn't be a reason to not communicate with your customers about product defects. Go look at how many unanswered bug threads there are. It's no wonder that people get frustrated to the point of being rude.

And when they do respond, they are very curt if not outright rude themselves. Every time I have ever had to deal with a representative, I've gotten the distinct impression that they just really don't give a single ***.

Since this thread hasn't been terribly constructive, we are going to go ahead and close it down. Thank you for your understanding.
