How would you feel about racial passives being removed?

I didn't bother really reading since I brought up racial imbalance and MinMaxing more then a year ago! Remember when Elder Scrolls Online was advertised as play as you want? Oh those were good times right? Yet we sit here arguing about balance and MinMaxing! Do we truly play how we want?

I don't mind the racials. It gives selecting a character race more thought.
And you still can play whatever you want. It may not always be the best race/class choice, but it makes things interesting.
I made my first stam dk...chose dark elf. Yeah, I could've went with Imperial for the Red Diamond passive, but I knew I was going to make him a vampire for the damage reduction below 50% health. Because of that, I made a dark elf for the extra fire resist.
Sometimes fun doesn't always mean playing the most absolute optimal build. I already have a character for that...this one doesn't have to be. Without raicals, these choices don't exsist. I'm never a fan of taking choices from a player. That's taking variety away and gives less room for character creation, not more. That makes everyone the same "under the hood", just with diffrent looks.

Honestly if everything was balanced properly there wouldn't really be a "optimal" or "meta" build. Kinda like old skool WOW.

As someone who appreciates the differences between the races from playing the previous single-player games, and by that I mean differences above and beyond appearance, I would prefer to keep them. Tweak them, by all means, but don't sterilise the game further.

The racial passives in the actual TES games, all the way back to Arena, were not detrimental to any build really. In fact, they only ever mattered at low levels.

The thing I wanted, that I'll never get, is old skool Morrowind/Oblivion class selection and skill progression. You know where you used your weapons/slotted spell as primary attacks, and traditional MMORPG "abilities" didn't even exist. That would have made ESO a truly unique mmo. A non-gamer would not be able to tell the difference between this and WOW, whereas they would be able to tell that any other TES game is completely different.
    I digress...

Are people seriously this desperate to complain about nonsense that we start calling racial passives (which has been nerfed a number of times with the purpose to have less impact) un-balanced??

    I´m so done.......

I actually would not be against racial passives being removed completely and replaced with something more of a talent system. However, I still feel that there should be some racial passives purely for utility, such as the Argonian swim speed and Khajiiti sneak.

I'm an end-game player currently holding some really high scores on trial leaderboards, and I play exclusively Argonians. I specialize particularly in stamDK and stamsorc damage-dealing. The thing about that is that I receive a lot of crap about it, and the idea that I'll always be at a lower damage ceiling than meta races chews at me every day, and I'll be honest, it's really taking a toll on me.

Right now, I want nothing more than to make Argonians much more viable as damage-dealers, and the only way to do that is to rework the racial passive system with an goal of shrinking the performance gap between races. Heck, I won't even mind if there are still meta races for certain roles as long as the performance difference between the "best" and "worst" race is less than 2%.
Best Argonian NA and I will fight anyone for it

    20 Argonians

    6x IR, 7x GH, 7x TTT, 5x GS, 6x DB, 1x PB, 4x SBS, 1x MM, 1x US, 2x CB, 1x Unchained

Old school WoW was absolutely cookie cutter builds. If you put a wrong skill point into the wrong skill line, your build was trashed. Not being rude, but using vanilla WoW is the worst example here.
There is no such thing as balance in any MMO. And it definitely didn't exsist in old school WoW. To this day, class balance eludes Warcraft, and that games been around for what....12/13 years? Striving for some semblance of balance is one thing, but make no mistake....perfect balance in MMO's....any MMO....doesn't exsist. Probably never will.

You're quoting a 2017 article from blizzard about old WOW. Modern Blizzard explitly hates the original WOW. As evidenced by literally everytime someone asks for an older feature or mechanic to be implemented on a Q&A. WOW Classic won't even be old skool WOW.

How will WoW classic not be old school WoW? It's exactly the same, and the article in my above post is about players wanting it changed to a more balanced version, and Blizzard saying No...you want classic, you get classic. As it stands now, it's going to be exactly like it was in 2006. How will it be diffrent. Give me something besides your opinion. That's what the post is about...WoW classic being WoW classic, imbalance and all...
Either way, it still states what I said to be true...Original WoW was no where near balanced. The date of the article means nothing. What it's saying does..and it's saying WoW was never balanced. Classic worse than the rest. Full stop.

It would leave a lot of room for character creation and make the world a much more varied place, but I understand some people Cough *Argonians* Cough *Redguards* Cough Cough, would be upset losing their op passives

It would remove the reason to have races beyond mere cosmetics. Boring blah.

No worries though. It's not happening.
