150% XP Scroll - Clockwork...BOUND!?

So I get this 150% xp scroll from wherever, and I can't move it to the one character I need to grind some stuff on. It's stuck on my main that literally has everything maxed I could ever want...and then some. My main, that has every skill line maxed, does not need an xp scroll. But one of my alts does. But ZOS decided to character bind it...lol. Wtf.

    I agree OP. Terrible oversight by ZoS to not make it bankable. Would've taken all of a minute. I couldn't believe it when it wouldn't go in my bank.

    It's the same with mount skills. I got a couple from the free crates on my character who is maxed in riding skills and couldn't bank them for my alts. I've learned to only open crates with my low level characters. I really wish ZOS would change that.

    It is bound to character so you can't just keep making alts to finish clockwork, transfer the scroll to bank, delete that character and make another to do it again. Having a way to get as many 150% xp scrolls that you want, could cause problems.

    I don't know if there's a difference in the ones you buy in the crown store and the ones you get from the crates, but I tried to bank the ones from the crates and I couldn't. That's all I know.

    No way I'm doing that quest on more than one toon. Can't believe ZOS would spend the time to care about that. Those xp scrolls and riding lessons are completely useless on my main.

    Exactly. Far too long to do it for that scroll. At best you'd do the quest before leveling a new character if you intend to the quest anyway, but it's not going to help you get more exp faster.

    Yes, plan using it for that during the upcoming event, kind of pointless if you are max cp however.
    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    I don't know if there's a difference in the ones you buy in the crown store and the ones you get from the crates, but I tried to bank the ones from the crates and I couldn't. That's all I know.

    I have never bought them, only got riding lessons from crates and I never had problems banking them. The ones you buy come in form of a container, as far as I know, and that container is not bankable (same with all other containers). Maybe there are also other ways to get a riding lesson container. But in that case you should be able take them out of the container and bank the actual lesson books.

    Interesting fact, this was mentioned multiple times during PTS. So, leaving it bound to character was sadly done on purpose :(

    I bought the adept pack and banked all the riding lessons, you can also bank the +50% scrolls you got in the dungeon event.

    Are you sure you’re not looking at a CONTAINER - sometimes scrolls and riding lessons are packaged in an unbankable container - which to be honest is often not very clear - but they contain bankable items.

    Try double clicking the item to empty the container.

    Folks, the 150% XP Codex reward is not bankable ... it’s unique and thus bound to character.

    That said, you can do the Clockwork City main quest in half a day (mentioned above). So, do the main quest on your Alt that needs the XP boost the most ... and you’ll have the Codex on the right character. It’s not rocket science.

    And why exactly do forum-goers think banking these before deleting a character would not break the game? Seriously??

    By the way, riding lessons are bankable. So, those you can move around to the character that needs them the most.

    It's pretty simple. ZOS still wants us to buy exp boosts and doesn't want to screw the ambrosia market too much. If you could bank it, you could simply do the CWC quest on a new character, bank the scroll, delete the character, create a new one and repeat until you think you have enough. I do find it annoying that you don't know this beforehand. At least you can grind CP easily now.
    This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

    If it breaks the game, then just don't give it out as a reward. What kind of a "reward" is it to max level characters? The only time I ever use XP scrolls is when I'm leveling up lowbies.

    Have to agree here; an XP boost by itself isn't worth going through an entire questline on an alt. Especially multiple times. I strongly suspect you could use the same amount of time to earn the gold to buy the pieces of the vanilla Ambrosia recipe, trawl through guild traders, buy and learn the recipe, then fish up enough fish to get Perfect Roe to keep the alt in XP boosts for much, much longer than the CWC reward, with the added bonus that you could then make more every time you rolled up a new alt and only have to replace the Roe for subsequent characters. Much more efficient.
