Other social activities than just killing?

Constant fighting and grinding dungeons can get very boring and eventually lead a lot of people to quit. Why not let players rest a bit from mashing skill buttons and add some tavern mini-games? Anything that would make towns more than just a duel battleground and people gathering on rocks spamming AOE. Taverns in ESO are looking really cool and it makes me sad that there's no one there except NPCs. A simplified card game like GWENT would be awesome, or dice, or something similar to beer pong ...or anything to occupy us other than killing stuff! Make taverns alive(just please, block all the skills in taverns to stop skill spammers)!
what are your ideas for social mini-games in towns?

Why would you want to do anything other than brutally murder people? Weirdo.

I'm glad there are more people wanting this. Too bad the topics never got far on the forums. Hopefully ZOS will notice one day. Fishing is the only mini game so far but it's for loners. Turning it into something competitive would be cool.

Would love to see some mini card games and such added to the taverns! Maybe even some achievements or a social skill line with passives related to the taverns, that way people would have incentives to go there as well.

Fishing during the festival was far from a loners activity lol. I loved the festivals, you'll see hundreds of players gathered in small locations spamming zone chat, it's beautiful!

Events? Housing? That's about it to be honest since most quests require killing.

I agree, other activites would be fun, I'd suggest horse racing but only people with maxed mounts could do so
    Hoping for more playable races

That was an idea the original developers had, each breed of mount was to have different attributes, but people don't like the idea of not having everything exactly the same for "equality," killed a lot of cool ideas.

It is beyond ridiculous they haven't implemented things like this to make taverns more of a social center in game. Really a shame how minimally this game maximized its potential. Could've been one of the best games on the market if handled correctly.

I like to take a break from the violence by harvesting materials, crafting, furnishing houses, etc.

I wish you could give someone full decorating permissions, it's a pain to drop everything you want a friend to move. Would be a lot of fun if you and a few guildies could decorate a guildhall together, assign everyone to a station, woodworking, clothing, etc. And fill the house with furnishings.
I don't normally use daggers, but when I do, I choose dos Lekis.

I can get behind that. Though it would require participants to already own a mount. Then again that game mode can just supply everyone a default Horse for the Race if no other mounts are owned/equipped. Also everyone's speed would need to be the same.

Also an obstacle course would be a great idea. Especially on foot, have players traverse incredibly rugged terrain in custom made small scale maps like Battleground Arenas, but it's set in either a cityscape or the wilderness and players have to navigate their way through to the end.

At first I thought you meant a playable horse race.

but seriously, we already have assets for lizard racing from Hadran's Caravan and frog racing from Skywatch - why not let us race our pets too, just for fun, with random outcomes and no gambling involved. Imagine a dro kitten racing a polar bear cub.
AD is the best looking faction. I don't make the rules, I just enforce them.

neither one would finish as the bear cub eats the kitten then falls asleep content.

This! ESO world is the most beautiful and alive out of all the MMOS out there (and I've played all the good ones). Cmon ZOS! Let us get lost in the amazing universe a little bit more.

MMOS being inherently a social experience also rely on Guilds to develop such emergent game-play. ESO is one of the first mmos I have played that really caters to the lone wolf. Adding some events they could participate in without having to be overly social in a guild would be a good thing.

Farming is very social, mind you. You meet new ppl all the time and curse them for taking your columbines.
Crafting stuff for others is pretty social as well. Especially when you need a F hour to explain them how much materials they need to send to you.
Trading requires a lot of social skills and cursing new and interesting ppl for buying what you just wanted 10 sec b4 you.
RPing drunkard is social as well. You pretty much act as irl, insult others and you duel from time to time. If you lose u blame it on cheap swill they sell in that particular tavern.
And nothing is so social and personal as sending hate mail. Add there RP elements and its pretty much the pinnacle of socialization with others in an MMORPG.

    Hehe. Nice list :P.
As for the guilds, ESO is the only MMO I've ever played where I couldn't care less about the guild and I actually don't know a single person out of hundreds in there. I think it's thanks to the ability to have multiple guilds and the guild trader system. That's why I really wish for more social activities, because ESO feels so damn lonely.

In Oblivion I would bet on matches.
    Save & Bet
    Lose -> Re-Load
Win -> take my earnings and do it again.

I do not recommend that for ESO
I do endorse horseback racing, but everything has to be on equal playing ground
