A lot of people get burnt out on this game (at one point I was playing 13-18 hours a day everyday ) . If it’s not fun , or feels like a chore , step away for a few . Imo this game can be highly addicting and a break is always good . There are a few new games that came out or if you wanna step away from gaming completely go do something that’ll make you feel good about you. :)

I think is it easy to be burnt out of hard content it takes time it takes work on your game. It takes hard and annoying grinding to get characters ready for hard content.

When I feel burnt out then I just go back to questing and exploring. I get that people find questing dumb and stupidly boring but questing is the reason you started playing in the first place... Why not go bash a few mobs to death for awhile help some citizens out.

With me its the opposite. I get burnt out if the content is too easy. IE lower than novice difficulty on skyrim. Add to that the lack of rewards from dungeons and the lack of any creative dungeon design and it is a death sentence .

I haven't burned out yet; sometimes I get frustrated (in vMA or when I drop like a fly in Cyro ) and then I take a break, but if anything, I love the game more and more, to the point that I sometimes I have these panic-filled thoughts of when the servers close permanently one day :cold_sweat:

I'm the opposite, if the content is difficult or stressful, I avoid it. I don't play a game to be stressed or worry about dying, etc... when I play I want to relax and do content minus the drama. That was the great thing about One Tamriel, I can go anywhere from the start without worrying about anything being difficult. Considering I create/delete new characters all the time, this is what has kept me playing steady for over three years- minus a four month break.

What annoys me about the game is what happened with Morrowind and the nerfing of resources turning the game into 'heavy attacks online'. Sad how game developers develop the game for THEMSELVES but not for the actual PLAYERS who are the ones playing the game. MOST players don't have the same vision for the game that they do, and they really need to start developing content and making changes that the players want, not forcing THEIR vision onto the majority who don't want it. That was the biggest problem with DCUO and also with Marvel Heroes Omega... they developed the game for what THEY saw or how THEY thought people should play... and now DCUO is barely hanging on and MHO is gone. ESO would do well to learn from their mistakes and start considering what the players themselves want... and I don't know of ANY player who wanted/likes the over the top resource nerf that Morrowind brought.

I've only been playing since October and already meh

With all the good stuff in crown store there's little to work.for in this game after you hit 50. I'm not maxed out by no means I'm cp 216..but I'm like..uh..Where's the rewards? The incentive? I'm not interested in v dungeons because there's no good rewards for such a time sink to get good at those.

VMal same thing..while a mal weapon is a worthy reward the rng makes it annoying so no thanks

I have a goal to master crafting but then I realize why? It's almost pointless since there's little reward even in that. Also all it entails is click research now once every few days

PvP was never my thing because it's pointless and full of idiots

I played uon for years and even though it was a little stale I always could find enjoyable things to do. I could go face the abyss to tame a nightmare..or prove dragons or farm blood eles which gold actually was worth something. Or sail the seas or look for rares.

All these modern mmos are so..bland and shallow. Eso is a facade. Better than most modern mmos if not all mmos but that's not saying much.

Eso with its crown store even makes making gold almost pointless..besides..it's really boring making gold here..and the economy sucks bad.

Oh well..I'll continue to play for awhile at least I'm still gaining stuff and leveling am although but I'm not so sure this game will hold me very long I'm just to poor to reap the real rewards. My eso plus isn't enough forvthem..they want to hide all the cool stuff behind a pa wall

I see this as a problem with the game and it will be interesting to see if they try to squeeze more blood from the turnip and make things worse, or whether they will back off. I feel like I know more about what is going on in the Crown Store than I do with the game itself, and that is not generally a good sign.

I get bored in the game from time to time. I have been playing Oblivion and Fallout 3 recently in place of ESO.

Edit: On playing Oblivion... it is nice to be back in Cyrodiil.

I am all for being able to do all content at all atimes. But a happy medium , like adept on skyrim, is not going to make the game super hard, but it will at least make the bosses a little challenging. It would also be nice if there were different tiers of enemies. For example. Bandits were a push over mostly in skyrim, HOWEVER, I am sure everyone remembers entering the falmer caves and running for their dear lives at first, or finding those vampire lords. It doesnt have to be all or nothing imo, which I know someone is going to twist my words into, but a happy medium is the key.

I agree with the second paragraph though. That combined with the "lets make everything exactly the same " attitude really is killing it.

I am so burnt out of this game that i couldn't even start the game to kill 1 monster each day and also complete dungeon during the next event. :hushed:
The game was right there installed right in front of me. Whispering to me "click click" and i still couldn't

The worst part is ill miss these goodies when I return to the game when the new chapter is announced for my ES lore dosage .
And I freaking bought 200 crates at a time once and now I denied free ones.

I am not telling this game is boring or something . This game is awesome and most of the players in it.

Happens in every game. I have only been in ESO to briefly check out holidays and special events a little for a few months. No big deal. I will probably play regularly again eventually. If not, that's cool too.

Play something else or try some other hobby for a while. Forcing yourself to play defeats the purpose.

Sort of, yeah. I mean there are just so many enemies I can mindlessly kill over and over.

People always say if you're burnt out take a break. but taking a week or two break in an MMO is like making a 450 lap pitstop at the Indy 500. You'll never catch up to everyone else after you get back.

I’m always burnt out on this game now. For my first year or so (before One Tamriel and whatnot) I enjoyed the crap out of the game. But for the last year and a half or so, I can’t play this game for more than a week without getting extremely bored.

The fact that the majority of this game is keyboard-smash easymode, and the developer’s focus on cash grabbing instead of fixing issues, is a deal breaker.

Not so much burnt out as very disappointed in the design decisions made by the developers. Seems that about six months or so after launch, the game just went south for me.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

I can literally give a hundred reasons.
But one of the most important is that they still care about the franchise and some also the future of this game so that they can return and love it like before. It do have ES name in it.

Why do people post mundane things like "going to get breakfast" on Facebook and tweet things like "pancakes, mmm"? People are hardwired by evolution to be social creatures to begin with, and non-negative responses (likes, comments, etc.) to social media posts - and forums were the "second generation" social media (BBS and Usenet probably count as first generation), lest anyone forget - act as a dopamine drip, literally.

The simple response to the OP is - if you're getting burnt out on Task One, go and do something else. This is why a number of anti-workplace-stress guides (or even the "how not to stress your eyes" literature) recommend taking regular breaks, it's the same mechanism. You will note that this is a one-sentence response that should not be a great mystery to most people.

    Instead - a two-page forum thread with mostly 1-3 sentence responses...mission accomplished.

I both agree and disagree. I agree with statement in the middle but not the first and the last one.

"I’m not getting the purpose of this post. "

Then who gonna post ? Only the people who don't complain ? It is not that the developer can't make better game but it is the consumer that doesn't accept.
Purpose:I wanted to see how many people are burnt out like me.

"If you enjoy the game, then play.
If you don’t enjoy the game, then don’t play"

Agreed but that binary option doesn't take posting or using forum into account.

"There are so many options. Use them. Don’t get tied down to just one. "

Totally agreed I am playing other games in the mean time.Including Modrim <3

"Nobody is forcing you to login...except yourself"

Nah, it is the events.Even though I didn't but it will give me a slight disadvantage in the future.

Now my post wasn't meant to criticize the game at all. In fact I said the game is awesome. But it is really surprising to see so many fans are scared of their game receiving criticism.

Personally, after two years, I've come to hate it.

This is mostly due to the gameplay changes meaning I'm not able to run like I used to, or have the freedom of build I used to.

When I cant play my way like the tagline says, yeah I got burnt out fairly quickly.

Yet here you are complaining about it.

You know.... I can't stand what EQ II has become, so I don't play the game and I don't complain on their forums...they have made a decisions they have their fan base there are just to many other good MMO's to play.

Maybe you should try it, it will save you stress.
