This, and that was the downside of event, you put up items who is in high demand and impossible to get elsethere. Now give them low drop chance and be non trade able so lots got plenty of items but not that they want.An event such as this should not leave players feeling this way. They call it a celebration but all I have seen is message after message of upset players low drop rates garbage items and disappointment amongst the player group. You would think the people at the Zen would realize this is going to translate into lower player purchases and lower player participation in future events. The drop rate was garbage the loot pool was garbage. The promises were high but they did not deliver. All hype to boost their sales to increase their stock for the shareholders just before Christmas. Wonderful scam they pulled. You would think they would look at the forums and realize how unhappy they have made their player base.
Some else say the drop rate should be swapped, make the costumes pretty easy to get, 8-15% drop chance, the purple and blue CWC blueprints should be the rare reward to keep players grinding.
And not selling them in store for limited time for inflated prices afterward, that would resolved most of the issue and earned zos some money on top.
I honestly wonder that the strategy for ESO monetarisation is?
First you have stuff people would want to buy but they can not because of some reason.
Extra furniture slots, extra character slots yes its about changing an setting.
Then you have old retired items like from this event, and no they don't show up in crown crates in good enough numbers.
Seriously how many of these did people get? I did 84 of these and has one lockpick, now I know it's RNG but I feel like it might be getting over exaggerated how often these dropped.mirta000b16_ESO wrote: »And there's no way to purchase them either. Great event guys
That being said, I did get the pet. Out of my company of 3, I was the only one to get a single more meaningful item. I really wished for any costume though. In the end the event felt dissappointing, as filler items were worse than the Halloween sticks even. Welcome to the world of white lockpicks!

No...earned would have been if it was for sale and you bought it.
thinking you "earn" ANYTHING by participating RNG is the same logic that leads compulsive gamblers to go broke because they just know that the next one and the universe will acknowledge their hopes/delusions/crossed fingers as a command.
This, had they put the items in crown store an limited time after event pretty much all would be happy and ZoS would earn money.newtinmpls wrote: »I just wanted the blacksmith, and having done 9 toons each day of the event, i think I freaking earned one.

Except for the fact, that just about every other title in the industry currently, that has events like this, implements multiple means to achieve what you want. It is a 'fair market expectation' to assume that ZOS would have the common sense to do the same, and not set so many people up for disappointment. I wont belabor the post with a giant list of current MMOs that have episodic events like this that use RNG, but also use event currency or make the items sell-able, so you can still get what your after. In that scenario RNG becomes a boon, not a liability. Thats creating a positive feedback loop for the player. ZOS really, really dropped the ball on this one. it makes me think they are oblivious to what their competitors do. thats a recipe for failure in any industry.

If you did experience testing first three events you know how bad this one truly was

*in comparison...
wouldn't want people to think that those were all the great to begin with.
