"General Discussion"

I've not been back long and I've had a thread removed, I also noticed some of my threads were moved to 'Housing' despite them not being about housing. Both those threads were an attempt to engage the community, start discussions, talk about the game etc. I'm starting to think maybe a different section of the forum should be opened up for those who wish to create events or have a more relaxed conversation about ESO, if that makes sense.

I feel a bit like I'm being forced to only discuss heavy topics, game issues etc. I think "General Discussion" isn't really an accurate representation of what is actually being discussed.

I know it's been said before it would be too much work for the mods but I honestly feel like some posts would benefit from a subsection.

Please be kind :P I'm feeling a bit low and ranty about it as one of things I love about ESO are the people :)

P.S much love to the mods, I know it's not an easy job and I genuinely appreciate everything you guys do <3 xxx

How can you feel "low and ranty" about anything when you just got two kittens? Kittens always make me happy no matter what else is going on.

Welcome back :) Yeah, they do that now rather fast. It seems the salt posts take priority now. The pve posts that would make the game much improved are shoved off in a corner.

I wish it was different. :*

I have no problems talking about Generals but don't expect me to talk about Colonels.

Awww! Give them time! If it makes you feel any better, if I try to kiss my cats belly, he will rip my face off! lol

That’s like as of right now in general discussion there is a few post about pvp not put in pvp section and few post about skills and combat not put in that section.

Mods just pick and choose so the general forums so get flooded with everything. Don’t feel bad about it seems kind of random tbh.

You could probably just PM a mod and say if you think a thread was placed in the wrong area and have them move it back, they're pretty open to communication and working with people when it's kept civil.

Yeah I do think some more forum sections would be useful. It's been said before that an off topic thread would be nice for certain things. Even though they might still be related to the game. Like that funny "OP tank build" the other day that someone posted, and it was a cool Thomas the Tank stunt video :D Even the "What do you look like in real life" thread could go there. The mods made an exception to deleting that thread only because so many people in the community got involved.

A post about "General Discussion" should not be in the General discussion forum. This post should be moved to the crafting forum.

I do like the idea of having more forum options. The moderators do a fair job of course, but I do kind of miss that little bit of off topic interaction, conversation and general community building that can spring up when you're offered a bit more flexibility on what to post.

Mind you, anything that relieves me of the tedium and banality of unconstructive posts, farming awesomes / insightfuls threads, egotistical ponderings, forum warriors, bitterness, rudeness and 'my-thing-is-better-than-your-thing' crap would be most welcome.

The moves are sporadic, yesterday seemed like move post day for some reason.
If it wasn't for the participated link I would never find a lot of posts again.
I agree that an off topic section would help so a few more community interactive and fun posts could be made.

@Glaiceana Yeah I posted that  That was the one that got removed. It was considered bait and disruptive :/

In the past General ESO Discussion was pretty much the dumping ground for everything. I know it seems like we are getting pushed off to the corner, but my guess is the mods want us to use all the sections and not just post everything in General Discussion.

Yep and most of it for the better I think....I think the mods were pretty much forced to do this because you had five or so people making variations of the same dead horse topic it really got ridiculous, so moving the post then combining them on a sub forum just makes the most sense, it has opened up the GF for more relevant discussions and that to me is a good thing.

Except in a lot of cases they leave one or two of those threads in general and move others, making the authors feel singled out. It might not be blatent censorship, but at times it feels like it.

I had a poll about player behavior regarding node stealing and it was for some absurd reason taken out of General ESO Discussion and moved into PVP Campaigns...

When I brought up that I didn't think it was appropriate that my PVE node thread was thrown into a PVP forum it was moved into Quests and Exploration I think just to spite me. I personally thought it really didn't fit into either of the subforums that it was moved to and request that it be deleted (since they refused to put it back into General Discussion) but was further ignored.

Since then I've been a lot more cautious of the threads I create to avoid a similar situation again.

They can't find every off topic thread just do a report and they should move it to the appropriate sub forum. /shrug
