I wouldn't call 3 hours queuing with a premade group fun, on 2 occasions. 5 random normals that should normally take less than 1 hour in total took over my whole evening multiple times, only to receive 1 transmutation crystal and some trash pots
But it's good that you had fun personally. I wouldn't encourage ZOS to do more events like this in the future, though. It didn't feel inclusive at all, since you could run 30+ dungeons and not get a single costume, whereas someone else can run 4 and get everything you wanted.
RNG is lazy and should never be encouraged in a video game in 2017.
A solution would be either to have the rewards be repeatable an infinite amount of times so that if a player really wants an item he can grind for it all day and night and at least have a pretty damn high chance of getting what he wanted.
Or even better, have them drop as runeboxes so they could be purchased in game with gold.

As far as I'm aware, the grouping issues were mostly happening on EU

i ve got 10 dps toons - played for a long time, etc- but for the first times i tanked and healed during this event- which was fun. well slotted ransack and healing springs if that counts as tanking and healing.
but yeah as with the rest- not gtting to have the 3 costumes that have eluded me for 2 years- that ive been happy and willing to pay for with real money- really sucked.
