Not a tank issue

Why don’t you que as a dps if you don’t want to play as tank role?
You are actually ruining other people’s fun if a tank doesn’t do it’s job by holding agrro.
Dungeons got 3 roles, and it is fun to play different roles. Not everyone want a 4 dps dungeon run, cos it’s boring when everyone is doing the same.
The game has its learning curve, just like any game has, in fact this is a mmo, so if you don’t wanna learn then you’re actually affecting other people’s enjoyment and experience.

While I give you credit for suggesting a unique alternative category to dungeon finder, I don't realistically see ZOS adding this as there are already alternatives in place such as making a group from guildies or zone chat.

Don't bring up "but I'm a newbie, how can newbie learn if you don't want to group with us?" excuse in random group. If you cannot pull your own weight for a random dungeon, then find a guildie or even ask someone in zone chat who can carry you to group with before queuing.

Random normal dungeons are exactly where this should be brought up. If you are unwilling to run with and help new players then either join a random vet group or don't use group finder.

No, random normal is NOT where you doing this. Currenly i'm farming nICP and nWGT for the set and using group finder queue specific. A light/heavy attack spamming DD fake as tank or a stam bow "healer" will waste me thousands gold/ run because I have to use extra pots (over 110g/pot), extra soul gems, and extra repair bills, to drag them thru.

It doesn't matter if it's vet or normal random. If you pick a role you're saying "yes, I can do this". If turn out you cannot you are a liar. If you want to learn say that ahead so people can decide if they want to help or not, which character they would bring to help, not jump in a random dungeon with random strangers demand to be carried.

Great job wasting time of other dungeon finders by registering yr non-taunting toons as tank and now to read this wall of text. Tanks are not only required to taunt the boss but also to be the first lead an assault on groups of mobs.

    Tell the DPS's that.

They go in ahead of me and make a mess of the mobs I am trying to gather together. Really DPS's, it takes less time overall if you wait 15 seconds for me to gather everyone up so you can AoE them down.

I let a guy die who did that last night. Kept running in first, so I stood there and didn't taunt anything. He died, then I started taunting.

The sit in chair emote comes straight out lol

Thanks for the tip, I'll use that one next time =)

You could just as easily ask in zone chat and get a group willing and able to help you farm. If you don't want to play with people learning the game, a new role, or new rotation then do not use the random group finder for normal activity. The difficulty level of all but maybe two or three normal dungeons (ICP and WGT ain't on the list) is obviously meant for those learning.

I agree if you pick a role you should do that role to the best of your ability. A person learning that role is not going to be as good at it as a seasoned player. As a seasoned player you have more resources to pull from to help run the dungeon as you wish. Believe it or not most new players are not looking to be "carried" through a dungeon. They are looking to have fun and learn how to better play their character. That is exactly what normal random dungeons are for. Then when you get better you jump up to the vet stuff.

And the best quickest way to farm gear is to go with guild mates. Gives you four chances at getting the gear you want.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

I think perhaps you could have presented your idea better, I feel most here have misunderstood you somewhat. I agree that it would be a good idea to be able to specify your intentions (if any) in the group finder. That's not a bad idea. Inexperience players that just want to train could queue up with that category and would only be able to queue up with others with that category. People who wish to read all the quest texts in dungeons could have a category too so they could group with like minded players; and super OP players that don't even need or want a tank could also have their own category perhaps.

Correct you are. I should have put the last part first. The post is a suggestion for better PUGs.....but alas, it is good to see that the ESO Hall monitors are out in full force, as usual.

The problem is that it would take even longer for DPS to get into a group if you had to queue up for different types of group.

I don't have a problem because I run randoms on my healers, but I know people who queue as DPS do get pretty long waits sometimes.

So again, what is stopping you from saying in zone chat "Hey, I want to run X dungeon for the quest, I'm a DPS, who would like to join me?"
