I found this event to be highly insulting. But I do get what you’re saying. I just don’t know what else to do.I can agree with some of your frustrations, but to really leave a game you seem to enjoy over a single costume seems extreme.
Personally I found I had more fun with the game when I stopped letting ZOS marketing shenanigans get to me. I just play the game for what it is, tell them I think some aspects are insulting to us, and have fun with my friends.
I am not trolling. I am serious.
I understand that and as someone who is OCD about RP stuff I do get it.ThePrinceOfBargains wrote: »Hippie4927 wrote: »So much stress over one costume?I found this event to be highly insulting. Here’s how I am. When I get fixated on something, it’s extremely hard for me to let it go or compromise. I have certain vision for all my characters in the game. If one doesn’t meet that vision, I can’t use them. I’ve been purposely avoiding questing for certain characters until I can get them to look exactly the way I want.
To put into perspective on just how close I was, I had everything I needed for this last character. I had the Volar’s Crescent Staff, a discontinued dolmen drop that I paid 750k gold for (2 days later, I found another one for 200 gold). I miraculously managed to get a Plague Husk Horse from one of the Crown Crates, which even I didn’t consider a realistic expectation. That was 2/3. Item number 3, the Dark Shaman costume, was right there in front of me! Yet, my luck ran out here of all places?!
It frustrates me to no end. I was so close!
Ugh, there’s that phrase again. Several times it’s come up over the past few months in different places. Who knew I’d need it here of all places?I understand that and as someone who is OCD about RP stuff I do get it.ThePrinceOfBargains wrote: »Hippie4927 wrote: »So much stress over one costume?I found this event to be highly insulting. However I started learning over the years that sometimes things are outside of my control, it sucks when something can't be "perfect" and it will bug me to no end. However I also realise I was making myself miserable because of that.
I won't say this event was all sunshine and rainbows, there was a lot of confusion over what to expect and it was a little disappointing how it turned out, but to throw in the towel or get upset over one thing outside of your control will ruin so much joy which could be had in life.

It isnt just stress over one costume. Its stress over more then one thing, and this was the straw that broke the camels back.
Well I mean, if they take off that last straw...I might be good for a few more miles.Hippie4927 wrote: »Hippie4927 wrote: »So much stress over one costume?

That's not the way I read it because the OP clearly said, "If the Dark Shaman costume comes back again, I’ll be back I guess." To me, that means the other 'stresses' are tolerable but not getting the costume, isn't.
I live by the philosophy "expect nothing and you won't be dissapointed". It's a healthy attitude based on the RNG in the game.
See?! This is how I know it was rigged!ThePrinceOfBargains wrote: »
Seriously, if they had made the costumes runeboxes I would've given you one for free. Duplicate pulls weren't supposed to happen, but my loot log said I pulled Dark Shaman six times. Every time I was left with only trash as my 'reward' since I already have the costume.

Well if my paychecks were randomly generated, and I didn’t get one for the entire sale, I’d be pretty annoyed.ThePrinceOfBargains wrote: »
I bet OP whips himself each year when the JC Penny summer sale ends.
I sympathize with your frustrations but honestly it was a free event.
To be so angry and rage quitting the game for not having been given the correct free stuff (but still given free stuff nonetheless) is a little asinine in my honest opinion.
Even the guy who spent $1k USD on Crown Crates for the Adamant Dwarven Horse (and ended up not getting it) wasn't as angry.

As I recall, he still blamed ZOS for “tricking him,” which was far more absurd (ZOS’ Radiant mounts are BS, but not for the reason he claimed).
