I’m really glad I didn’t renew my sub for December. All I wanted was the Dark Shaman costume. THAT’S IT. That’s all I’ve wanted for the past five months. Some people have wanted it even longer than me. I put in roughly 63 characters of work towards getting it. This was supposed to be a 10 million players celebration event, right? Part of the reason that’s significant is because of the TIME people put into the game. If nobody played the game, there’d be nothing to celebrate. So why am I sitting here more annoyed with the game than I’ve ever been instead of being fulfilled by an event celebrating such a “monumental” occasion? Why was the time I put into this event rewarded with garbage?

Some of you will think I’m exaggerating, but consider the principle of the matter too. There should’ve been a currency that you had to grind to purchase the items, with the 20-item “jackpots” being left up to the terrible RNG. I don’t like having things dangled over my head like I’m some dog (I wouldn’t even do this to my dog. If he worked for that treat, he’s going to get it). And really, this is just that final cherry on top that just destroyed this game for me. Crown Crates, “Radiant” Apex mounts, “Chapters”, absurdly overpriced homes that are ultimately useless, ridiculously long loading screens for my wife on PS4, bringing back the old crown crates without the gem option, and now this?! After having my hopes crushed at least 63 consecutive times for no good reason, I’m just done. Can’t do it. Just thinking about this game makes me sick.

If the Dark Shaman costume comes back again, I’ll be back I guess. Until then, congrats to anyone that really wanted it and ended up getting it.

No, you can’t have my stuff, and I’ll make sure the door doesn’t hit me on the way out.

What do you want to accomplish from this post? It was a free event based on rng. Yeah it would be cool to get certain things, but if you’re sick of it then don’t play. You could have participated without spending a cent on ESO and for that you really can’t ask for much.

This event was very poorly handled.

It shouldn't have been tied to the Random Dungeon Finder at all, given the numerous problems it has.
It shouldn't have been tied to Random Dungeons at all, but rather just any Dungeon. People mostly ran part 1 Normals anyway.
It shouldn't have been 1 per character, but made grindable so that putting the time into the event was actually rewarded, and people could more or less get what they came for.
It shouldn't have included trash such as lockpicks, treasure maps, single motif stones, etc. Those aren't rewards. Those are insults.
It shouldn't have let you pull duplicate drops. Gina literally said duplicate drops wouldn't happen: Well the loot log doesn't lie. They happened.
It definitely shouldn't have been ran at the same time as a Free Play Weekend. The servers are under lots of stress during normal events, adding Free Play onto that is just asking for *** to happen.

Nothing about this event was rewarding. It was frustrating as *** to queue into (if you could even), and once you got the box it was a huge disappointment 99% of the time.

Learn from this abysmal mistake, ZOS.

Never run an event this way again. Do it right.

Lol. It was literally the easiest thing in the world putting a small group together. ZOS please run more events like this. Although I would appreciate a specific loot table released before hand.

I literally said that’s what I was going to do. As for what I hope to accomplish, at this point, I’m just expressing my extreme dissatisfaction with this event. Could’ve been so much better in regards to what it was meant to celebrate.

No. They most definitely do not need to run events like this again. There were numerous problems with this event that could have been easily avoided.

As you should. We should all express our dissatisfaction with this event. It was very poorly handled, and ZOS needs to know that. Most of us spent too much time dealing with the buggy Random Dungeon Finder than actually enjoying the event.

Btw, I agree, rng was pretty bad, as always. I wanted costumes as well.

We are not suppose to win everything all the time. I was very happy to get a mount and pet from this and some cwc green blueprints. I went into the event really wanting the black smith costume but did not get it. I’m not pissed or leaving the game I’m happy that I had a chance to get something that was discontinued. Oh well maybe next time you know not the end of the world.

I went into this promotion, not expecting to win the world. I got the blacksmith and chef outfit, along with 5 or 6 recipes that I didn't have, so it was all good.

I'd recommend that you never try playing the lottery op.

Remember you aren't working, you are playing a video game. ZOS has no obligation to reward you for playing, and I find the fact that you are complaining that your free stuff isn't good enough amusing.

I wanted the Dark Shaman costume too, and wasn't lucky enough to get one. But I'm not going to whine about it, because after all it's just pixels.

Group Finder issues aside, it seems that the dissatisfaction from the event comes from people's expectations of actually getting something they wanted.

Just because someone played 100 toons over the course of the event doesn't make them any more entitled to Item X than someone who played one, once.

Everyone who participated, however you may personally rate the rewards, got something for free. Don't like the maps or mimic stones? They're free. It doesn't matter. If the overwhelmingly "poor" rewards were so bad, there was always the choice not to spend all your time chasing something. Chasing RNG only ever leads to, well, this.

My expectation was that I would get some free loot. I did.

I agree and it's not like we had to pay anything to participate. It was just running dungeons that I run all the time anyway and the boxes were just a bonus. I didn't get squat except a few transmute crystals. That's fine......no stress.

Why did you get your hopes up??? That's what I want to know. I went into this knowing I would probably get nothing useful. In the end I did get a treasure hunter and chef costume and I'm happy with those. I would have liked to get dark shaman but I'm not going to throw a tizzy because RNG sucks. Expect to lose at RNG. That way, when you win, you're more happy.

Other than that, the event preformed OK for me as it gave me a reason to actually play on some of my alts. I know some other people had tons of issues with the groupfinder, I was lucky enough to only to get infinite declines once, and it fixed itself after I just re-queued anyway.

I can agree with some of your frustrations, but to really leave a game you seem to enjoy over a single costume seems extreme.

Personally I found I had more fun with the game when I stopped letting ZOS marketing shenanigans get to me. I just play the game for what it is, tell them I think some aspects are insulting to us, and have fun with my friends.

I wanted the costume for so many months and even sent customer support a ticket and they said I had to wait till it returns...and I waited and did the event on 7 characters all 5 days so that's 35 boxes. I skipped college so that I could get more time to do the event. I didn't get the costume and the worst part is all the people on my friends list who show off with it :'(

Today is the last day, it ends 10:00 East US, 15:00 GMT. If your timers are done before those times you can sneak some more dungeons in.

Seriously, if they had made the costumes runeboxes I would've given you one for free. Duplicate pulls weren't supposed to happen, but my loot log said I pulled Dark Shaman six times. Every time I was left with only trash as my 'reward' since I already have the costume.
