Where do you get your health?

Just kinda curious as i start to look forward to my endgame gearing...

But as a level 35 stam sorc i'm finding my health is starting to become an issue.

Early on i had a few sets built as well as some decent jewelry (i have a crafting alt at 50/164 cp that i don't use anymore) and for a long while i was running close to 20k health.

As i outlevel the gear and start getting more and better set items, i am, however, finding that i'm focusing more (maybe to much?) on stam and crit bonuses rather than health.

I've gone from ~20k health to ~16k health in about 5 levels and, while i'm still doing fine questing etc., it still feels a bit jarring.

So i pose the question: Where do you guys get your health from? And what number do you feel comfortable with?

Specific gear pieces with health enchants? Specific sets you never go out into Tamriel without? A specific food (on this note i'm using mostly Lava Foot Soup-and-Saltrice for the scaling stam/stam regen buff)? Or do you split stat points? (i've been dumping everything into stam and most builds seem to go that way... but its an option).

Just curious.

Ty for any advice :)

Usually I'll get my HP from food. Purple food gives about 3k health, and blue food a bit more.

Other than that, running one healthy jewellery piece tends to work pretty well, as does putting 5-10 points into your attributes.

Champion points will also give you stat bonuses (20% to Health Magicka and Stamina when you get 300 points invested) and that will make a big difference. Additionally Undaunted Mettle will give you another pretty significant health bonus, once you have it unlocked.

All up you'll be hitting 16-17k health on a build with Blue food and no other health investments, which tends to be plenty if you are playing as DPS.

    stat points (if needed)
    ebon armor (trial tanks)
surely i forgot something, but you get the gist of it.

I have 19k as stamblade but only cause my necklace and two rings I used to up it...with out those I'd have 14k.

19k seems a bit low to me for somevreason.

Also my weapon damage is 1.9 so I need to figure out how to have 19 or 20k health with a lot higher weapon damage

I'm wearing full spriggans set..Vanguard jewelry set..and night mother arms and dagger

If you have no CP to boost his health just put as many points into health while leveling to give you a 5:1 stamina to health ratio. If you do that you can get away with green crafted or store bought white food. You can always respec those points later.

If you want to put all your points into stamina instead then just craft or buy blue stam/health food.

I personally feel comfortable with 17K+ health but your comfort level will also depend on your damage mitigation from shields, CP, etc. and how well you avoid obvious damage coming your way.

Stamsorcs with crit surge and hurricane can get away with low health and still feel very tanky.

I think most classes shake out somewhere between 14-16k health when max level. It is something that can be a bit confusing. Because if you keep leveled gear as you level up you health will actually peak and the go down as you continue to level.

I like to run my stamina chars between 19-20k and most my shielded mage types around 18k. To do this depending on equipment I typically have to enchant 1-2 large pieces of equipment (helm, chest, legs) for health. That is around 1k health each. And then usually eat max level blue food for around 5k health. These two things are usually enough to move me up from 14-16k to a comfortable (for me) 18-20k.

I am also a stamblade, and usually run NMG with Leviathan and Stormfist, although I am trying a prototype build using Spriggan's and Leviathan, with the same monster.. I run dubious, with stamina enchants on arnor , and weapon damage on items. Point is, unbuffed I am at 14.7k for health, and in a group usually around 15.7k - which is a bit light, and you do need to be aware of melee dynamics. I lean on killer's blade heavily for health regen, and even for health sustain in larger trash mobs. Depending on the dungeon.and boss, I also may switch to Rend as an Ultimate (vs. Flawless DB), and Blood Craze in the rotation, to keep a regen going. As a DPS, I can get a very powerful heal out of Rend, that is enough for most situations. For extremes, I will switch to Vigo outright,, but damage will definitely then take a hit, since its cost means I am switching to HAs for any sort of prolonged fight.

I know the OP is a sorc, but thought the perspective from (stam-based) blade would be of interest.

And as a DPS, I stay out of red, of course.

On my healers and dps I go with 16-18k health.
I don't put any points into health attribute. If after CP, undaunted mettle, food and passives, I find myself needing more health I'll drop a health glyph on a major armour piece, or pick a monster set with a health bonus.

If you're not sure how much health you'll need go for around 20k. As you get a better feel for how your character build works you can drop health to where you're comfortable.

For one thing, sub 50 and post 50 are very different.

Sub 50, if you are finding yourself dying I suggest moving, blocking and such to avoid damage. It will pay off later. If magicka, use shields. All magicka, well, w/5pc light armor, have access to the light armor shield. Sorcs have their own shield. If stamina, spend some time in Cyrodiil and get Vigor. It helps.

Post 50 your health will really sink until you get the undaunted passives which takes a little bit of time. Put some Attribute points into health and get it where you are comfortable. You can reset it later. Other option is health enchants on gear. Really does not matter which way you go.

While many of us run with 17k+ health (sub 17k for stam), the best advice is as much health as you need to survive. As one plays the game they become more comfortable with the games mechanics and avoiding damage which results in needing less health.

    ty all :)

i'll not worry about it for the moment (i'm not actually dying or anything... i just saw the drop lol).

I might start pumping points into health for later respec though. 5:1 sounds good, at least until i get the undaunted/heavy armor/etc. passives unlocked. I currently have 42 points in stam so that means roughtly the next 8 points in health... that should help a bit. And i try to keep a heavy chest piece (best armor stat) so slapping a decent health glyph onto it might not be a bad idea there too.

Alrighty, sounds like i have a plan/route now.

    cheers guys :)

My MagDK PVE Dps gets it from silks of the sun... or Valkan Skoria. If I switch back to burning spell weave I have to reset my attributes to add more HP. I have to use witchmothers brew for regen. In the past (when I was farming silks of the sun) I had a health enchant on my chest piece so I could easy solo stonefalls world bosses (4/6 of them).

My Stamblade PVPer gets health from tri stat enchants on the large pieces of my gear. Magicka is still usefull in PVP for cloak and it gives me just enough health to get me to a good spot.
