Dungeon Finder Broke already

✭Thought I'd log on and do a quick dungeon, as I've got things to do later, tried entering a dungeon in pre-made group but it just puts us in a queue, don't even get as far as a ready check. Tried re-logging and re-zoning etc but that just seems to reset the timer on the queue. Is there something else I need to be doing, arcane rituals, human sacrifice? Also having the problem with leaving the group too. I'm not an expert at this malarky, I usually let other people lead the group and sort the dungeons out xD (PC EU).PC EU & NA0 -

Haven't experienced not being able to leave the queue and group, yet.. and I'm crossing my fingers. My sympathies to everyone else who can't partake in the event.0 -

This first run was perfect except not being able to leave group. Other guy left and I was kicked.Well, when I first logged on I was able to join and leave the group finder, but still had no group and my guildmates were reporting issues with grouping too.
When I relogged to a new character and joined the group finder, however, I wasn't able to leave.

After that it has been complete chaos.
Logging out does not remove you from dungeon queue, guess half who is queued is not active.
I grouped with friend as I know this kick you from dungeon finder, 3 minutes later we queued, he left and I queued for dungeon, i finaly got out of queue and was grouped with friend again
I assume its so many offline character in queue this put additional strain.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.0 -
feyii✭✭✭✭I just got the impression that the group finder just can't deal with the mass of queuing people. Everything regarding groups seems to happen with a delay. It was very noticable right now when we tried to pass the group lead around, to check if this made a difference. First nothing happened. Then, after some minutes the lead was passed from one group member to another without any of us doing anything. vovus69✭✭✭✭Well, guys, at least you've got some response from zos community managers. It doesn't mean that devs are working on it, but it is much more than NB skill bugs when you don't see even such reaction and they never acknowledged even half the bugs...
So relax, have fun, forget about the event. You know zos - "we are always listening to you"... They never said anything more than that
I will try later on again - may be in evening PST when we will have less people this system will work better. This is most probably usual scalability issue, as all major systemic problems in ESO. So there will be no easy fix. Just wait when people will use it less and you might get lucky. This means that you can completely skip dungeons for this weekend - they declared free weekend, so it will be extra influx of the people who will all go to dungeons and will be pissed. Do your usual routine. Cyro is better than usual now - less people, less lags. CWC is almost empty - which is nice. Wrothgar is better now when all harvesters left, so I can do vMA finally - it was really pain in the ass last week when it was this stupid event...
As you can see - all of those things showing at scalability as the main issue with ESO nowadays. But nobody in zos will acknowledge that because fix is really expensive redevelopment of the game engine...

✭As it's been mentioned before, ZOS probably did this 'event' as a stress test to try and understand exactly what's going on with the GF.
However, I think it's lowsy practice to approach it like 'everyone participate and earn free gifts!!' and then getting nothing but angry players instead of saying 'everyone we need your cooperation for a stress test, do this and we will reward any player that helps us with gifts.'
It would be far less infuriating in my opinion. If they are using players to test their code then let us know. Don't pretend it's just feebies for the sake of being nice when it clearly is not working as intended.3 -

vovus69✭✭✭✭Do you remember when any major update worked as intended ? I don't remember any such thing. First day or two are always a fix for the mess they did not test earlier. But this time they will not be lucky because they positioned the whole event on the subsystem which is not scalable and cannot handle such load. There is no fix for that - just reduce the number of people playing. And on top of this they announced the free weekend! This is something which I saw only among top managers who never have any real information from the ground. They are living in their imaginary world of how this thing is working. if it is true, they are really close to all main corps where top management is a bunch of delusional loonies usually.

As someone who works in tech support, turning off then back on again fixes things all of the time. Only people that either a) don't try it b) don't have any idea what a reboot actually does or c) some combination of a and b take issue with it.3 -

Make group of 4 players all of you close your clients (not just relog) and stay in group don't quit it join random dung and it worked for us. Trying on 2nd toons gonna post results0 -
