You can make them now and train their mounts every day, so when you're finally ready to start playing them, their mounts will already be trained up. I'm doing that with two low-level characters right now. I'll finish leveling them up the next time there's a double experience event.
Level 10 is WAY too low level to do dungeons with, by the way.

at level 10 I believe that your dungeon pool will be 2-4 normals, meaning you should be able to handle it pretty well. That being said, somehow get at least one taunt.

I've leveled up 1 extra character to 15 in order to prepare for the event in the past month, however I'm a slow leveler and I don't have a lot of time to play, so 2 mystery crates per day will be enough for me (and even then I don't know if I'll get them for all days, as I'm staying in work until 10 PM on Friday).

I agree that this is a great strategy for the upcoming event. That being said, any event that encourages people to cancel their subscription should be looked at a bit closer by the ones running it.

Haven't really looked into the event. So you can get 8 drops per day? If you have 8 chars that is.

Oh wow only 1 drop per character? Will it be RNG or is every drop for sure on each character?

You get seriously scaled at level 10, so yeah, if you know how to avoid red and stuff, go for it!

Also, since they introduced the new minimum level requirement for DLC random dungeons two patches ago, at level 10 all you'll get is the tier-1 dungeons Fungal Grotto, Banished Cells and Spindleclutch.

You'll quickly level up to 15 too, allowing you to use two skill bars.

@Khaeon : You're limited to one special reward per day per character - tied to the "purple" random dungeon reward, so it's actually 20 hours cooldown. The contents of the reward box are random.

Also note that Gina just confirmed that we need to kill only the end boss of the dungeon, not all bosses like the article previously stated. Which is very good for those not-so-rare-occasions when you get put into an in-progress group.

I hope people won't be mean and kick out level 10 characters, I mean its only normal, so we should get by pretty fast regardless. Hopefully I have enough guildies to run with otherwise pug it is.

Can confirm

at level 10 you can only get 3 dungeons.
Fungal Grotto, spindle Clutch, and Banish Cells. All version 1
So there will be no problem at all with queuing as a level 10.

Yes any level 10+ can do norms for the rewards, so unlock all 14 slots !
