I've been gone for what feels like 2000 years. Recently I've tempted to reinstall the game (depending on if there's anyone still here from way back when?) and I guess I'd like to hear from everyone how things are.

How does PvP run compared to a year ago? Are the expansions worth buying? Has anything changed regarding ESO subscriptions? What's the general player base like these days?

There's too much to ask, really. So I'd love to hear from people about their experience and how long they've been playing :)

To anyone I know; hai! Xx

The game as a whole is much better now than it was prior to Morrowind I would say. The game balance is better, not perfect, but more enjoyable for most I’d say. The DLC are good. ZOS keeps getting better and refining their storytelling. If you buy Morrowind you can play battlegrounds. Cyrodiil is the same old same old. Game performance has improved, hopefully they can keep doing more to continue boosting the experience for all.

Oh wow, really? Yeah I played long before Morrowind. With Battlegrounds added, new expansions and smoother gameplay it's definitely tempting to get back on... Hmm.

Mostly still the same... There was an exploit with the last dungeon dlc that ZOS came down hard on issuing perma bans, gives me hopes they will take cheating/exploitation a bit more seriously in the future.

Morrowind was just on sale for $20, totally worth it at that cost. Personally if I didn't already own it I would hold off till the next sale. Clockwork City DLC is small but enjoyable. We can now change the trait of items via a transmutation system. 50 crystals to change.

Subs now double your bank space(480 instead of 240), subs get 2x storage of transmutation crystals(200 instead of 100), as well as double housing item space, craftbag, and dying costumes but I think the last 3 where all here before you left.

You can acquire crystals to change the traits on your weapons and armor now. Many guild houses have the station - you don't need Clockwork city

You need to see the official thread on loading screens regarding PvP

There is a new event starting up soon, involving doing random dungeons for free stuff

Regarding your PAWS, they have begun giving away crown crates for free to entice people

Master and Maelstrom weapons have been changed and there are new Asylum weapons that are akin to them as a one piece set

    Welcome back (hopefully :D )

    As for your questions:

    - PvP still has its cheese, but far less than before. Proc sets are a thing of the past, Destro Ulti been nerfed, defensive Ultis had cost increases, etc, ...
    - There have been performance improvements (noticable when you enter Cyro for instance) but there's still lag, loading screens and right now there's a bug during large battles where we lose all sound
    - Morrowind introduced Battlegrounds which were great before, but now that they have become CP-enabled they are less fun imo
    - Morrowind also has a new class: the Warden. Great healer and tank, Magicka is decent in PvP but Stamina is OP
    - New DLC: Horns of the Reach. It gave us a trait and mundus stone overhaul which def improved the game: Sharpened is no longer king for example. The DLC has 2 dungeons like Shadows of the Hist
    - New DLC: Clockwork City. Small area, like TG or DB, with a great story. But the most important feature is the Transmutation Station, which allows you to change the trait on a weapon of gear piece

I have been, don't worry :) There's just so much I want to know and having it summed up is helpful. A *lot* has happened whilst I've been gone and, honestly, a lot of stuff I wouldn't know what to look for

I also came back a little while ago after making a post like this and things have improved a lot. There is still many things that need fixing, some big and small, but overall a lot of systems that needed overhauls got them which is a big step in the right direction.

Plus the little things like quick action on exploits, contests, and freebies here and there are really nice tokens that keep me coming back. If you have friends here and it seems you do, I'd say it's totally worth another go.

Aww that's awesome! Yeah, I'm going to get back into it. Hopefully make some new friends too.

It's weird, I feel a bit nervous. No idea why. It's probably just because I will feel like a noob again

If you've been gone for 2,000 years, you've missed a lot more important things than the latest ESO updates. Not sure if you heard, but Rome fell, there was a "Medieval" period where scholarship and civilization ebbed for a few centuries, then a Renaissance. A whole new hemisphere was discovered. Well, I say discovered. There were people living there, of course. The whole hemisphere got divided up into nation states. Also, several nation states have been experimenting with some interesting adaptions of Athenian democracy crossed with the Republic. It's all very exciting, though the experiment is kind of at a crucial point right now. Oh yeah, this weird sect of Judaism came out of nowhere and pretty much took over.

    And that's just covering Europe!

You should really get caught up.

I should have clarified; I'm a time traveller. Im actually from 2000 years in the future. I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time...to...game.

In terms of content, now is a great time to dip your toe back in. Clockwork city story in particular was very well-written. Quite a few new systems have been added in this time too. I may be biased, but I would definitely say ESO is worth playing again. Perhaps casually for a time, and give everything your full attention.

I only been playing since December 20th, 2016, so I'm pretty much only knowing the recent stuff.

If you are from VR times, then I should tell you that VR is scraped and is now replaced with CP, short for Champion Rank, in which now goes up to 690 or 660, I forgot exactly and each point you get a 0.?% into a stat of your choice.

I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but with Morrowind there's also a new class, Warden, which is a nature/ice focused class.

The game is probably better now than it's ever been despite the complaints. The devs are giving more free stuff out, we're getting crates, a pet, a mount and such.
    Hoping for more playable races

    I'd say the exact opposite.

Since the sustain nerf the game has become tedious.

The DLC are good, but Morrowind isn't worth the pricepoint.

PVP is the same horrible mess of toxic players and horrible balance.

    Games worse off.

Well, nothing drastically new. No spellcrafting, same lags, same bugs with skills. You will have couple of new DLC zones, couple of new dungeons, stuff like this.
