Eh. I still think a few repeatable 'introduction to roles' quests would be relevant.

For example, have a quest through the Fighters and Mages guilds that give you the chance to try being a DPS, healer or tank in a solo 'dungeon' you do with a couple of NPCs. Perhaps that group could give very general stats tips prior to the engagement (e.g. have a stamina DPS NPC who suggests a couple of Mundus stones, and argues in favour of sets with medium stamina sets because they'll boost damage). If possible, let players try out a few sets, with the gear disappearing when they leave the dungeon.

Then players have to fulfill their dedicated role for a brief encounter alongside pointers that appear on screen (e.g. telling tanks to keep aggro of dangerous enemies with taunts, reminding them about the importance of staying alive with gear and abilities, and reiterating block and interrupt mechanics). At the end, perhaps some of the friendly NPCs offer a bit of advice (e.g. the healer recommends the tank turn enemies to face away from other party members). I think helping people understand the difference between overland and dungeon content would help a lot and give them a meaningful way to test their build somewhere without running into antagonistic players.

There will, however, always be differences between hardcore players who min-max and more casual members who just try to do something that feels good and still mostly works well. Trial and error with the systems works reasonably well at the moment for solo content. It's the chasm between solo and group content that deserves explanation.

For most of the overland and most of the dungeons, yeah. Most of the raids do not abide tourists even on normal.

It has so much depth and nuance. Easy to play, Hard to master. It rewards those who actually pay attention and work hard

No we want Eso to b easier cuz it’s allowed to play for 12yr old players. It’s toooo much. Swapping cps from bgs and cyrodiil. Calculating the cap of cps in different situations.

It’s not easy if u want to b the best or at least good. I see many players doing the wrong things.

Okay so firstly I like ESO because it is a relatively easy to learn MMO. You basically just have the three stats, put on any gear (as long as it matches your primary stats) and you'll do fine. Since most gear sets comes with a nice mix of resources, damage and crit. Plus some of the best all round sets are craftable. I love the buff system, its really intutive.

So learning to play the game is easy.

We have a strange situation where you don't have to learn the game to complete the game, which is good.... until it isn't. Vet group content needs people to actually learn the game and its mechanics, but up until the moment they step into vet they didn't need to know. They know they want monster helmets and purple jewerely and more keys though, or that sweet slayer gear from trials. But there is no in game mechanism through which a player can learn... it relies on content creators and guilds to teach people.

The game doesn't need to be easier but there needs to be some ingame tutorial about how to do the MMO roles, about watching and learning boss mechanics (Don't stand in the Red!). Somewhere learning about how to do a rotation and how to lay down AoEs how you should light attack between each skill, that turns 8K dps to 18k dps without any particular skill improvement. Now we have in game target skeletons i suggest we build this into the undaunted questline.

Finally there is a bunch of annoying, unintutitive interactions between skills and sets and cp and stuff like that. That should all be cleaned up and simplified.

what you must realize @wizzard is that, much like the game "Cuphead: Don't Deal with the Devil" (Which I have never played but I saw an Honest Game Trailer for it from Smosh Games on facebook) The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited appeals to a certain Subset of Players.

To make ESO any easier to learn is like playing Cuphead on Simple mode (Except in Cuphead, you cannot progress that way & have to return to regular in order to collect the souls on the devils list.)

If certain players cannot learn how to Play ESO, it is because they are not yet ready for it, or even never will be.

my advice to all: Certain Games will Differently Appeal to a Certain Subset of Players including the ones with a good Learning/Difficulty curve, so make sure you can properly adapt to a particular game on a mental scale, otherwise you may end up in quite a predicament.
If you see me anywhere. Know that I am sitting back with a bag of popcorn, watching as ESO burns the goodwill of its player base with practices that only disrespects the players time like it did to me and many others...

If a game does not respect your time, best thing to do is move on from it and find something else.

There is such a thing as "information overload"

FF14 has a "Hall of the Novice" which gives very rudimentary info on class roles and dungeon etiquette. The rest has to be learned by experience and some reading. A newbie can and will be caught off guard by the mechanics of later dungeons. It's a wake-up call that will hopefully teach a lesson to the player, not scare them off.

While I think ESO could possibly emulate something like this in the future, some things are better experienced than explained

Let new players run a DLC-dungeon, biggest wakeup call in the game atm.

Well, with the way you don't even have the attention-span required to type properly and literally shortcutting two-letter words (holy ****), I can see why you think this game is really hard to learn.

It is already too easy. However, I must admit, I was completely lost with my first character. Google is your friend!

There is the in game instruction booklet, and while it doesnt explain EVERYTHING, it does explain quite a b it. When I used to get a game way back, first thing I would do is crack open the instructions, common sense really tbh.

I remember when I started playing ESO...

I had no idea what I was doing because I was never told how. I chose had to go out of my way to search up guides (thx Deltia) and learn how to play the game properly so once I did reach endgame I didn't get [snip].

It would be great if people could actually learn how to play the game effectively without having to search up guides. It would help a lot of people. read the text provided on the screen.
    @TheUndeadAmulet fixed it for you.

If you intend to leaderboard, if you intend to min/,max endgame trials, you''re going to have to know more intricacies about the game, and those can be found in guides, forum posts, and by asking experienced players.

For everything else, that's what 1-50 and the first 160 cp's are for.

Learn you character/class/role. There is far more information and clarification in the tooltips/loading screens, even the death recaps than there once was, but you still have to look at it.

Your first character shouldn't automatically be your best - it's something that should come with time and experience.

@OOOdragonessOOO aside from Master at Arms and defining what does and does not constitute direct damage, what, exactly in the CP trees is remotely vague?

    • Jump points from CP
    • what is direct or dot damage(or melee attack)
