New class idea

An unarmed class will be nice too. Nothing is more badass than puncing a troll in its nuts with bare hands.
I don't want a necromancer, there are already two other classes using pets.
    @GabiAlex - PC EU Megaserver
Delora Xiaphia - Aldmeri Dominion - Nightblade Bosmer
Ugrim gro-Khar - Daggerfall Covenant - Dragonknight Orsimer
Sena R'en - Ebonheart Pact - Sorcerer Dunmer
Fjorik Firebeard - Ebonheart Pact - Templar Nord
Ophelia Adel Maris - Aldmeri Dominion - Sorcerer Breton
    Drinks-In-Silence - Ebonheart Pact - Dragonknight Argonian
Floriancen Larethian - Aldmeri Dominion - Warden Altmer
Zahir at Unar - Daggerfall Covenant - Nightblade Redguard

I'll be honest, reviving the old Monk class from the pre-Skyrim days could be pretty cool, and would fit with the game.

I agree that the necromancer shouldn't have a pet tree like sorc and warden but perhaps that is not needed. I would like to see a necromancer using his necromancy to keep allies alive instead of summoning skeletons. There probably has to be a summonable skeleton but those don't need to be pets in the common sense either.
I'd like to see an illusionist (skill line) too. One that messes with your visuals or other cool things. Too bad this will either be underpowered or rediculously overpowered in pvp and perhaps even useless in pve against bosses.
Monk can be great too if the class gets some nice passives to make up for the lack of stats caused by the missing weapons.
Obligatory bard and acrobat classes that annoy/seduce the enemy until he surrenders.
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

Never going to happen. It doesn't fit in the lore. Any of the other races that exist in Tamriel (like the Sea Elves) do not have the numbers to compete with the major races of the continent.
There is a dominant race in each Major Zone.

I would prefer a new skill line for each class.
Like giving Sorcerer the Necromancer skill line.

And making a liar out of that skill book. :p

Though, I'll grant @Ratzkifal credit, the idea of necromancy as a healing skill line is kinda amusing. Especially if the only summoning ability is to rez dead players.

    Thats up to ZOS.
    Iccotak wrote: »

Yes it would, depending on the race...
    Iccotak wrote: »

...which is actually not quite true, seeing as they do have their own homeland with Pyandonea, just a bit south of mainland tamriel. And thus have at least as much homeland as the orcs... and they -are- around and going strong as a race, unlike some. So they would be entirely viable as player characters, though somewhat rare compared to the "common" races - thus, baing available as unlock in the crown store (possibly at higher price then mere imperials to reflect the extra rarity) would make perfect sense for sea elves.
    Iccotak wrote: »

...which means nothing at all considering you can play races dominant in one region in different regions.
A maormer caught up in the troubles and thrown into the storyline, becoming a hero among the landwalkers by happenstance would make just as much sense as a orc in skyrim, or an argonian in valenwood, or an khajiit in bangkorai... and all those are quite possible.

The one thing about new races is - will ZOS consider the idea worth the effort? And that's up to them, not to any of us to decide.

Heh, yeah, I thought of that one too. One of the reasons I would prefer a nercomancy skill line to come with a class morph from "sorceror" to "necromancer" - while the two skills -are- related (as Fyr outlined in his writings), they are also -different- thus... let the ones who want to play with the dead declare their "specialization"... ;)

Any new races would be behind a paywall like the Imperial. They wouldn't join any of the current factions either, that wouldn't make any sense.

I hope for no more classes. I want class lines. Spellcrafting. Weapon skills. Martial arts techniques. Etc.

I could even see adding racial active skills... New weapon skill lines would require new weapons, but... you know, polearms? Crossbows? Illusion Staves? Punch Cat!

    This.

The class design in this game is just a tutorial for the narrow and simple minded. Imagine how awesome this game would be without classes but just skill lines with specific restrictions as weapons and armor skill lines already do. Imagine the possibilities and the theory crafting involved.

Actually it would even fit more to the skill based system of the Elder Scrolls RPGs. Back to the roots etc.

So let the snow flakes and unicorns dance alone until they melt or vanish from existence, we will finish up with those smart enough to stay in the glowing circle of love.

Silmerel - CP 1k+ Breton Magicka Templar (Ebonheart Pact)
Sunja - CP 1k+ Dunmer Magicka Nightblade (Ebonheart Pact)
Suldreni - CP 1k+ Dunmer Magicka Dragonknight (Ebonheart Pact)
Sulhelka - CP 1k+ Altmer Magicka Sorcerer (Ebonheart Pact)
Sylundine - CP 1k+ Breton Magicka Warden (Ebonheart Pact)

Indeed, any new player character races would be -exactly- like imperials. With the rest of their people stille enmies, but the individual character through some misfortune finding themselves exiled from their lands and joining with one of the three banners out of neccessity... (and considered a "traitor" by the rest of their people for it too)

Ship. Sailed. Sunk. Long time. ;)

Yeah, I wish they had done it more like that. Also, not have such restrictibe weapon skill lines, but... one skill line for mainhand, one skill line for offhand, let people mix and match as they choose depending on their weapon selection. With way more options...
But they made their system differently, and will hardly spend the effort and investment to redo it at this point. So I just keep thinking up things they could add to the currnet system to make ESO better for all of us... like for example, more wepon options: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/371862/additional-weapon-skill-ideas-mk-ii ;)

I disagree. Granted that necromancy is nothing like your typical divine protection magic, it can be used to protect and support too. An ally might have taken a sword through the chest, but he just doesn't die because the necromancer at his side prevents it. Imagine a ghost barrier made from the souls of fallen enemies. Lastly heals on a necromancer class would most likely be life drains similar to what NBs and vampires have. It might not be the typical "I BRING DEATH AND RAISE THEIR CORPSES" necromancer that lives alone but I would still consider that a proper necromancer.

If could see a new class put into ESO, what would it be? I like the Warden a lot but I sort of want to see another melee class.

Technically, and literally, all classes can be melee. The stam version is most often melee. DKs pretty much have to be melee regardless of may/stam and Historically Templars have been melee even as mag.

Essentially most everything is melee already son of sure why one would want to see another melee specific class added.

Not a necromancy skill, really. necromancy would be magic that deals with death, not magic that prevents death. Necromancy might turn the warrior with the sword through the chest into an undead on the spot so he could keep fighting, but... that wouldn't -quite- be what said warrior had in mind when he heard "protect and support"... right? ;)

...that one would be up the necromancers ally - as long as it involved stealing others lifeforce for themselves. Not to use it to heal some third party, that would be blood magic, which is more akin to the nightblades and vampires skillset, as you rightfully pointed out.

But in the final analysis, necromancy is NOT about keeping people alive, it is about bringing death, using the life freed by these sacrifices to power your magic, and raising the dead up as undead minions in either body (zombies, skeletons) or spirit (ghosts, wraiths).
Which is pretty much the reason the people of Tamriel don't very much like necromancy...

So, if there was an necromancy skill line, it would let players use a lot of spells we generally see from NPCs - be it liches, bonelords or manimarco himself. NOT invert the basic concept into yet another healing class. As I said, -preventing death- is the exact opposite of necromancy!
