Need Help Improving My Stam DK(PvE)

As of right now my stam dk is hitting 28-29k on the test dummy with a pretty simple heavy attack/dot build but I know I can make improvements any suggestions?

Gear- 5 night mothers, 3 VO, 2 velidreth, 2 hundings daggers (would like VO daggers), and a nirn maelstrom bow.

Rotation- LA, trap beast, LA poison inject, LA, endless hail, LA, caltrops, swap, Venom claw, HA, noxious breath, HA, blood craze, blade cloak, LA, flames of oblivion

LA-light attack HA-heavy attack

I always apply armament and flames of oblivion before the test and reapply them when needed. I also run damage health poison on bow bar.

    If you can hit 33-34k DPS on a target dummy (Without using cheese setup like: 2-Fanged + NMG + Kragh + Lover Mundus) you´re good to go for any veteran trial in the game. Those 41k parses you see on target dummies are cheese setups as I´ve written above, they´re good on a target dummy, but would never be used in a serious raid/trial.

    People often gives hint/tips on gear (which isn´t wrong since gear can have a big impact) but I´m more curious about your rotation. When I practiced with my stamDK I managed to improve my DPS from 31k to 34/35k (With selfapplied Major Fracture) just by practicing my rotation. My suggestion for you:

    Frontbar: Venomous Claw , Blood Craze , Deadly Cloak , Vigor * , Flames of Oblivion , Rearming Trap , Flawless Dawnbreaker
    Backbar: Caltrops , Endless Hail , Noxious ** , Poison Injection , Molten Arnaments, Standard Of Might

    *(Since I´ll have vigor in a trial I should have it on my bar during the test)
    ** Flex Spot

    Pre-buff with Flames of Oblivion (FoO), Deadly Cloak and Molten Arnaments (MA)
    Rotation:
    LA --> Endless Hail --> LA ----> Noxious ---> LA ---> Poison Injection ----> LA ---> Caltrops ---> Anincancel Barswap --->
    HA ---> Trap ---> HA ---> Venomous Claw --> LA ---> Bloodcraze ---> HA ---> FoO ---> LA---> Deadly Cloak ---> Repeat from start.

    Drop Standard whenever it´s up.

    In general stamDK is all about applying your DoTs and heavy attack. It baffles me how a class that has the highest single target damage in the game can have such a simple basic rotation.

    Why aren't you using 5 VO 5 Hunding or NMG? VO body pieces are relatively easy to farm so you can go 2 body 3 jewels, and 3 body 2 weapons from the crafted sets. Or you can use Sunderflame instead of VO and pair it with Hunding.

    As the other poster said, your dagger/axe should be NMG/Hunding's so you can run 5 NMG/Hunding's + 5 VO + 2 Velidreth. You'll see a very large DPS increase just from running the 2 5-piece sets (although personally I don't see the point in running VO on a heavy attack build, as you don't really need the cost reduction). StamDKs in my group run Hunding's + Morag Tong or Hunding's + Sunderflame or something along those lines.

    Are you using weapon power pots (Major Brutality + Major Savagery)?

    Do you have Flawless Dawnbreaker slotted on your front bar, and using Standard of Might off your back bar?

    You would also likely see a DPS increase from re-morphing to Rending Slashes and putting Rearming Trap on your front bar.

    How are your CP set up?

    I only run 3 VO for the increased dmg for trial/dungeon monsters. Im in the process of getting sunderflame used to trash it back in the day grinding for BSW now i regret it.

    I use weapon power and weapon crit pots

    I do have flawless slotted on my front and Standard on the back

    I can to 28-29K in a "dry parse", meaning no food on and no potions used, just to train rotation and back bar weaving. Proper rotations are about 35K, although I still don't weave perfectly on the bow bar (the reason I still do the former from time to time); I would probably close to 40K if I did but I need more practice.

    I use 5 NMG or 5 Hunding's Rage with either 5 Sunderflame (daggers + jewels) or 5 Morag Tong (jewels, hands, feet) or 5 VO (jewels, hands, feet) with either 2 Velidreth or 2 Mephala. Maelstrom bow on the back bar. Main hand dagger nirnhoned with poison enchant, off hand dagger precise with berserker enchant, bow either infused or nirnhoned (I have both) with berserker enchant - I could use the double drain health potion but I'm not that good yet with back bar weaving to take full advantage of it. Most is medium, but I have a heavy chest and light waist armor piece Hunding's so I can swap them out for more health in case I swap blue health + stamina food with Dubious Camoran Throne - I do that in trials where there's a lot of draining mechanics, and you have to break your rotation a lot to block, dodge etc. So it's practically 5-6 setups which I swap around depending on content. The one with 5 VO is just for vMA and dungeons. The rest are for trials. My general rule is that if a set has debuff up time of less than 6s I have it on both bars, if it's more it's only on front bar. Thus NMG and Morag Tong are usually double barred (unless I combo both) and Sunderflame is only on front bar.

    Bar setup:
    Front: Noxious Breath | Venom Claw | Rending Slashes | Deadly Cloak | Rearming Trap || Flawless Dawnbreaker
    Back: Poison Injection | Endless Hail | Razor Caltrops | Flames of Oblivion | Molten Armaments || Standard of Might

    Rotation is: Flames of Oblivion->LA->Razor Caltrops->LA->Endless Hail->LA->Poison Injection->Bar Swap->Noxious Breath->HA->Venom Claw->HA->Rending Slashes->HA->Deadly Cloak->HA->Rearming Trap>HA [repeat, recast Molten Armaments every 2 rotations for the minor brutality]

    If I have a lot of incoming damage I swap Flames of Oblivion for Volatile Armor, and sometimes Razor Caltrops for Resolving Vigor. Of course it's not maximum damage but in some trials staying alive trough the mechanics is more important than those 3-5K DPS lost. Also I use trap on the front bar for the passive that gives 3% more weapon damage. Depending on set my fully buffed weapon damage on front bar varies from 4.8K to 5K. Mind that heavy attack damage scales mostly on your weapon damage so stacking a lot will help DPS. Also single target DoTs copy the stats of each tick, so it's best they are cast from the bar with the highest stats. And most of those are on your front bar.
