Hello comrades.

Will in-game mail ever be fixed?

Having to relog or change maps to receive mail is really annoying sometimes. Especially when you are on a buying spree.

Been broken since PC launch. So after 3 years, Safe to say that it will never be fixed. They have known about it for 3 years so they dont know how to fix it.

Someone said it was a "feature" to fix some duping exploit. Is that true?

If you're on PC and get Shissu's LUA Memory addon it can help. I've found that I'll get mail people send me without having to swap zones or relog fairly often now. It also increases the amount of memory allocated for your addons which drops those annoying errors.

Mail people send me I get immediately, but from guild store purchases I have to zone most of the time.

Why Relog?

Just go into or out of the Outlaw Refuge or most any Delve, or as mentioned rezone. Mail will show up.

As for sending emails quicker, it appears that if you add 1 Gold to the mail, it shows up sooner.

It refreshes often enough but a quick zone change always does the job.

Sometimes I won't get mail until after a few zone swaps..which is weird because other times I get it immediately. I really wish this would be fixed..seeing as how a lot of people request it and I don't see it being such a huge tweak that it would cause all hell to break loose.

Yeah, I don't think it's "bugged." It's just kind of a weird design decision.

You don't have to re-zone. But doing so will trigger an update of your inbox, which seems to otherwise be on a timer, at least during high usage times. Maybe it's a way of them smoothing out the server load from mail distribution. In any event, just waiting for 5 minutes or so (worst case) will do the job as well. Your mail _will_ come.

What's very common in in mmorpgs is that the guy who wrote the mail system 5 years ago or so has long moved on to other oppertunities, and since a mail system is fairly complicated, noone wants to touch that now. Back in beta the mail system probably worked flawlesly whent he devs sent a couple mails every hours, but when 1000's are sent every second from the traders, they don't update in the client for some reason.

They would probably have to hire a guy to study it for months to figure out where exactly the problem is.

It's the same in every game with a limited budget, but why this game struggle with money I don't understand.

To be honest, if this is still going on after 3 years I'd say it's working as intended.

Pretty sure it's intended and not a bug. Basically just how the system parses for mail. Seems to me like it was designed that way to minimize load.

Agree it's likely not a bug, just how it was setup. It's easy enough to go outlaws refuge if in town or send someone gold or get a COD to push it thru.
