10 million accounts registered, meaning people who ever bought the game and set foot in it.

We don't know the retention rate, so its super anomalous. I highly doubt this game has more than a million people playing it across platforms.

How does this relate to OP? Well, easily the number of players means more money, which means better server performance and in game optimization.

When you have a game as badly optimized as than this game, for 3 years, and little communication as to indicating exact popularity, then the reasons more or less kinda come to fold.

It is entirely irrelevant if there are 10k or 100k people logging in each day - what is relevant is, whether or not the game makes a profit. And that does not come from F2pers logging in, but from people buying subs and crowns. I can't speak about the NA server, I only know EU and that's quite lively, judging by the numbers of people I run in to every day.

Look, OP, it's not that I disagree with you, for I too, believe this game is poorly optimized, poorly coded, with little communication from the company. The issue is that you're beating a dead horse. I've been playing since beta (with breaks inbetween) and your post is one out of many that ask for the same thing, and yet ZOS hasn't listened. My suggestion to you, and all others who feel that this game isn't meeting expectations in terms of performance (which it clearly isn't) is to stop giving ZOS your money. I think I'm near the end of the road here myself. I'll probably give it another week before I myself stop my subscription. Hopefully before then one of these "Server Maintenances" will address some of the lag and numerous bugs, but...I highly doubt it

The thing is, as many of you already mentioned, improving the Game, Servers, PvP Performance won´t bring much money in a short period of time. But in a long time it would cause many Players would come back that already left for Performance Reasons ofc.

I play 90% PvP and so many players i know are leaving this game or at least canceled ESO Plus and are not spending anymore money on this game cause there are some really really bad parts about this game where normal devs should be ashamed of.
As soon as the clock hits about 6pm you can log off from Cyro cause it is getting unplayable for competitive PvP. Skills not working or with 5 seconds delay. You have 3 Options. 1. Log Off, 2. Join huge Zerg where lag doesnt matter, 3. Play Battlegrounds and hope your mates have buyed Morrowind so you can play with them. (Btw. Even Battlegrounds are a mess. Many Gamemodes are more PvE than PvP focused. For Example Domination or Crazy King, only run for flags. No PvP, just run for flags.) And no Options to choose wich Gamemode you want to play.... Sad, really sad.

So many Players complaining about bad Performance in PvP wich is indeed Server-Side and what is Zenimax doing? Nothing. We only get this:

I play on Xbox NA. Every once in a blue moon i get some lag but it's the internet on my end not their servers.

I am truly starting to think people just have crap internet, because if this was a problem on their servers everyone would have the lag. I don't and I have never even seen anyone complain about it in any of my five guilds.

There is no problem.
