Any chance on a fix for the vanishing gold when depositing into guild banks?

Been happening over the past 2 years to me and just happened again tonight. I think I've lost around a total of 600k gold just from this bug alone. I do deposit in 50k lumps but those 50k's still add up over a period of time. In my past experience, submitting a ticket never resolves it and I've never had my gold returned through that route.

So, just making a thread to remind everyone that this is still a thing and hasn't been fixed in the space of 2 years, probably even more.

I heard from a friend that it started again happening. for quite a while i had the feeling, there was a buffer for deposits, which worked kind of this way:

when losing gold:
information to pay in -> gold removed from your inventory -> serverinformation -> gold is in, or when lag its not in.

later:
information to pay in -> waiting for response from server wether its in -> if not then sending information again -> response from server that its in -> gold removed from your inventory.

i also recognized less lost deposits simultaneously with other new "delays" in shown gold on the bank, while before that most of the time the amount of gold in the bank has been showed "realtime", the change of the bank amount often changed with a delay of some minutes. maybe i was wrong with that assumptions, but maybe zos changed something again or accidently removed a fix. i had the feeling, zos added a buffer to gold transactions in guild banks some months ago.

for you: as soon as u deposit and recognize it gets lost and isnt in the bank, note the date and the time, account and char and the guild bank. zos adds the gold to the inventory of your char within some days, when u report it with a ticket.

Also in terms of the ticket thing, I did try doing that the first time it happened like 2 years ago, gave them all the information neccessary (probably even too much info like what i ate for dinner that day lol) but it wasn't sent back to my character or account. Also another tip for now: I recognized most guild bank lags in prime time and on highly frequented spots. So it might reduce the chance of losing deposits, if you, as example, dont deposit in rawl kha on a sunday evening at 8 pm.

but maybe at 11 pm or 0 or in the morning in marbruk. if possible - i dont know when u usually play. but might also be worth a shot to check such stuff.

Happened to me with gold before and also happened with a stack of 25 columbines vanishing. Customer Support helped me both times recovering my lost gold and items. The first response is a generic computer response I think when you use the /stuck and then other top tabs to report lost items or gold, and you have to reply to it with more details. They may ask follow up questions but its good to take screen shots when depositing or withdrawing large amounts of gold or rare items. But as far as gold goes when they recovered my lost amount they had a log on their side that proved it and it was refunded. I just had to give the time frame which was on the screenshots I took.

Lost a bunch myself when depositing into Guild Banks, which resulted in having to deposit again (I purchased an auction item and the payment did not show up in the guild bank).

The solution that has been working for me and others in a few of my guilds is to allow the guild bank to load. Basically, open the guild bank....pause for 30 seconds or so...then deposit.

Hope you get some gold back with the ticket, it is quite annoying.

Thanks all for the responses, I'm just always too impatient and end up depositing them really quickly so yeah thats probably what caused it all these times.

didnt make a lot of a difference for me often back then. i was moving gold and items through my own guild bank for selling reasons on alt account. waiting for the load often didnt change a lot. either the performane is lagging and losing infos or not.

I've had gold disappear because of this, and noticed that it was always the first gold pile that disappears, probably because the bank didnt load yet. One way to prevent this is to deposit 1 gold first, see that guild bank balance updates, and then deposit the rest.
