See my previous post as to when it's the issue. It's the constant needing to change zones, face loading screens etc. made worse when you get multiple surveys.lordrichter wrote: »How about enjoyable content which is rewarding. I don't go "man I love going to Riften" when I am literally porting there, running across the map, interacting with some nodes and then porting back to where I want to be.NO PLEASE!
Attuned crafting stations, turn writs anywhere, and now local surveys? We need reasons to go everywhere in Tamriel, not to forget all the "old" places.
If it is that much trouble to do it in The Rift, it is that much trouble to do it in the zone you are in. Just toss the surveys and be done with it.
There are better ways to make someone explore the world than this. As I said as well I don't explore and go "man this rift looks awesome!" I've done those zones many times, seen all they have. Why not just hit one button and have everything done for you? What's the purpose of writs, surveys, and master writs? To get you to explore the world, instead of standing at one station. Local turn-in keeps everyone from having to run to Craglorn, encourages you to inhabit the place you want. But you don't have to do surveys immediately, just build up a few and then run them, go see Tamriel.
Yes it takes time to gather the writs, but they stack, so theres no reason you cant let them pile up for weeks before going to get them.

I am just running to the locations because I have to go there to pick up my daily rewards, not because I want to enjoy the experience of being there or see something new and exciting.
How about changing them from a map to a container...then we could just open them wherever and not have to put actual fun on hold. It's very boring running around collecting surveys imo...

Not everyone shares the same experience as you. I know, that's shocking news. I've been in since beta, I run my maps and surveys from multiple maxed chars every couple weeks, and I'll pick up dolmens, chests, and nodes along the way.
For newbies, surveys drag them into entirely new territory, and the exploration-focused content like surveys should be aimed at newbies who still need to explore everything.
i didnt ignore it. i just didnt have anything to say about it. but since you wanna go there...
People who cant be bothered doing simple things in the game, should never ever ever determine changes to the game.
you think its an inconvenience because you cant be bothered doing it. thats a really poor reason to implement a change for something that other players have absolutely no issue with.

@Apache_Kid
I know right? But they like it so apparently if you have a different opinion on it you're not qualified to make an assessment about the game.
Still waiting to hear how changing it so 50% of the time you get a survey for the zone you are in, and 50% of the time you get a random survey stops these players from getting exactly what they want, while still allowing crafters to have a somewhat easier time collecting surveys.

You think I should spend my limited play-time sitting in load-screens to get some raw mats THAT I ALREADY EARNED by doing my writ and getting the RNG roll required to get the survey.

By all means, do make the suggestion that they do the writs locally, or some of the writs locally, but ultimately, the ball is in your court, not with ZOS. You are the one that decides how to spend your time. When you stop doing writs because they are not worth it, due to the reward, the time required to complete them, or both, then ZOS will have concrete data to work with when they assess your suggestion.

1. Sry, but this is crap. Zos changes zhings without looking at numbers etc. If they would, some pretty big changes would not have been made in the past.
2. If he wants to make a suggestion, why is it a problem for you? As you can see, some doi have a similar opinion...
Problem is: You get a reward, and to get the reward you have to do another task...

Uh.
"By all means, do make the suggestion"
The suggestion is not a problem, which is why I said the above stuff that you did not read.
When someone brings up having a full-time job and family, along with other adult responsibilities, in a discussion like this, it is a flag on the play. The implication, stated or not, is that the person is weighing personal responsibility with playing a game. Now, of course, this is probably just a made up argument, but either way, there is a problem.
If the person is neglecting their work and family to do surveys because they have to, the problem is not with ZOS and the answer is not making the surveys zone specific. The answer is that they need to stop playing the game. Period.
If they are not neglecting work and family, then the whole issue is moot. They are managing their time like an adult. The entire line of reasoning is nothing but drama. They are intentionally doing the surveys. They need to decide whether they want to continue to do them. If they continue to do them, there is no reason for ZOS to change. The player is willing to do the task. Only if they stop doing it does the argument carry weight.
Apache_Kid wrote: »LOL this is such an absurd line of reasoning. Why do we have to stop doing the task for the argument to be valid?

The issue is moot because you are over emphasizing the problem. You must stop doing the task to reinforce that you mean it to be as important as you say it is.
What I would like is for the resource writs to become tradeable. They just collect and collect and it's always grindy and unfun to do them... I mean, for me at least. I would rather sell mine on the guild trader for a loss in profit and let someone else go through the hassle of grinding them out.
wonder whatever happened to them looking into other ways of addin nirncrux to the game?
