Yeah, the idea has been talked about before. And ought to be talked about again. I mean, I like good, old fashioned ultra-violence as much as a nice milkshake! (and shame on all who don't get this reference!)

If there is an option to have magic damage "killshot" animations, like burning up from fire attacks, freezing and crumbling from ice attacks or melting in green goop from disease attacks, why can't there be a "head flying off in a shower of blood" from sword attacks, or "chest cleaved open and guts spilling out" from axe attacks, or "throat slashed and blood squirting" from dagger attacks, or "skull crushed and brains leaking out" from mace attacks, or "perfect headshot - right between the eyes" from bow attacks???
And there could be a lot more...
...temporary blood splatters on all melee attacks, fro both attacker and victim, so that after a hefty battle your character really needs a bath to clean their armor (and yes, they should all vanish if you jump in a lake - no matter how much you nords among us may miss the bloodstains!)
...NPCs that are story-hurt to -actually bleed-, or show other "grievous wounds" instead of just lying there as if they went to take a nap or something.
...NPCs that suffer the effects from medieval battles when they were too poor to afford a proper healer. Have some of the beggars in cities display missing limbs for example.
...dead corpses between "looks so peaceful, like just sleeping" and "burnt to a sincer / skeletal", thince for the most part, we -only- get those two extremes to spare people the gritty, bloody mess bodies can be in between.
And if it was a DLC... then only those who actually -buy- it would see the "bloody mess" (yup, another reference here), and the rest... would get things as they are now.
...which would mean it would never happen.xenowarrior92eb17_ESO wrote: »yeah but my point was to not really put it behind a paywall...
I support this.
Dark Brotherhood was a good start in making use of the game's M rating, now let's go all in.

Lets incude full uncensored nudity while we're at it. Cause you know, how could bare breasts or man junk be even more graphic than a person's head being torn off or blood spewing from a torn limb.

If their code jockeys spend (paid) time coding something, the suits in charge will want to see some extra profit from it, or they would be highly unlikely to greenlight that development.
That is a fact of (capitalist) life.
Accept it.
Me, I would be willing to put my money where my mouth is, and pay good crowns for something like this!

I'm totally down. Bring on the lizard tiddies.
I want eso/elder scrolls games to be more adult. I want more swearin and grit. More blood n tiddies. Let's make game of thrones look like a Disney Princess movie.

Actually... I'd say GoT has the right mix. Spartacus-Blood&Sand on the other hand is an example of adding too much "blood n tiddies"... it should be there when it makes sense in the story, but not otherwise, or it becomes a "groan, not again with unneccessary the bloody/naughty scene" moment. Especially when they add completely unneeded scenes just to show some "fanservice" - its fun once or twice, but gets old pretty quick I'm afraid.I support this.

...and the dark brotherhoods "Blade of Woe" use. Which actually is a good first step to what I would want to see more. When we brutally hack and slash our way through ranks upon ranks of enemies, thoughs bloody well ought to get... well... bloody.MornaBaine wrote: »The only blood you really ever see in this game is during the vampire feeding animation ...
Agreed. They bloody well should have done a cutscene letting bloodthirsty vampires "put the bite" to their victims instead. Hey, they could do it for the assassins. So it ought to be doable for the bloody leeches as well, right?MornaBaine wrote: »...the vampire feeding animation which looks absolutely ridiculous.

No. For two main reasons:
--Fantasy violence needs to stay just that. This game just does not need to be "realistic" in that sense.
--Why the bleep would you want more things that would cause more lag? IMO, if you want that, please stop playing this game.
