I agree, if some clanfears jump, then they all should jump. Sorc ones included. And while we're standardizing moves, how about looking at that skill that player NBs lost but that every NPC and their mom still insist on stunning us with?

I'd be less annoyed if break free was working reliably. I'm having the same problem I get sometimes with hysteria. Full stamina (or close enough) but still can't break free.

Are you on PC? I bound Breakfree/Bash to a key rather than the mouse as it was more reliable that way. I use the Q key as I remapped Quickslots to the 7 key. I kept using up potions moving around....Anyway, you can keep the mouse binding if you want, but add a key for a secondary.

But, my dodge roll technique works, see above.

    Dodge roll+speed potion.

This is lazy game mechanics. I'm sure this was done to homogenize the clanafer type monsters. They made the mechanical ones in Halls of Fabrication leap so to make to easy on them, they made the rest of them leap. This is want they do. Every time you see a patch and they talk about improved performance it usually means they have taken something out of the game or merged several thing together to save on space and memory. It;s what they do with skills, classes, npcs and now monsters. There will be no investment in infrastructure or man power. Instead they will continue to do this kind of stuff to made room for the next “chapter” (that will be sixty dollars thank you.)

There has been leaping Clanfear in the game long before HoF, you need to become more familiar with world bosses in Auridon and also the main quest when you rescue Lyris..

I think the worst part is when you have a couple of Clannfear together, one leaps at you, you block and release, but then the other comes in right behind it and knocks you down and both 'devour' you. NOT FUN!
I was jumped by 6 at an dolmen :)
luckily they jumped right into my AoE but felt like I was invited to an bosmer dinner party.

Sorcerer clanfear don't jump, neither can you ride it.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I caught a clanfear out of the corner of my eye flying in the sky from very far away, it was a split second dodge reaction but I assumed it was a bug because of how derpy it looked.

Pretty sure it came leaping from the area of that gate, but it wasn't so much of a leap as it was just floating through the air.

The changed animation just seems awkward, like it's an attempt to save some animation cycles.

It's really no less unavoidable than the charge, but it just feels weird to me.

Yes, I hate the new leaping thing. I hate all these 'teleport strike' attacks as it is. Didn't want another.

Yes, but these "leaps" were added 'recently'... as in when they updated the world bosses, I believe in One Tamriel, so they haven't always been able to do that. Thus, they became a 'boss' mechanic that they lazily decided to give to minor Clannfears as well... but there should be a distinction between MAJOR and MINOR enemy NPCs and giving the same mechanic to all is just lazy.

The Nix-Ox doesn't always jump, then only do that up to a certain distance. If you run/walk fast toward them they will not jump. I'm on console so I haven't seen the new Clanfear attack, do they so the same kind of attack ?

I wouldn't be so annoyed at this if there was more of a warning.

The omnomming is almost cute, though. If I didn't have to CC break to get the stupid thing off of me...

Hmm. So, I would be content with one of two changes... either a telegraph so we have some warning to try and dodge or block or something... or cute om nom noises to make it worthwhile.

Almost every piece of trash in open world at this point either snares us or knocks us down. It's irritating.

I remember your mod for Oblivion where clannfears have Alien texture, its was pretty awesome addition, I roleplay them as special breed of clannfears from realm of Namira, Scuttling Void, it was awesome when I found Shadowrend in Banished Cells who was such shadow hunter as well.

Perhaps from gameplay side their pounce looks too much, but from Lore side doesn't Clannfear must be hunters like xenomorphs or velociraptors? Pounce its is part of their nature.
