Hey ZoS

Maybe "waste" some time trying to contact xbox. On ps4 if you block someone, they are gone for good, cant message or whisper you anymore, so technically the game is doing its job but this seems to be a microsoft issue.

The only thing I can imagine ZOS doing is banning that member, but if they ban him he may just create other accounts and things can get even nastier, some people can be really creepy.

    1. Discussing moderator action on the forums is prohibited.

    2. Use the block button, and make use of appearing offline, which blocks any and all ability to have tells sent to you.

You clearly didn’t read my replies. Congratulations

No, I didn't, because the thread is gonna get locked and that's the only answer I'm going to be able to give you.

I did read you wanna get Microsoft involved. If he's sending these things to you through xbox lives service, then yes, take it through microsoft. You will likely have a higher chance of it geting resolved if you do.

Congratulations you read a response, read the other replies for more context

Normally @Doctordarkspawn says stuff I disagree with but he was totally reasonable here with you. Your unnecessary attitude, bypassing of the word filter, and discussion of moderator action is really not the way to go about this. Highly doubt you’re helping yourself here.

Hopefully things get resolved somehow. In reality simply blocking them is about as good as it’ll get besides going Offline when they whisper you, or leaving guilds they are also part of where they use guild chat. My recommendation would be to wait for whispers that are harassing you and report those. If it’s serious they will definitely get their account suspended, and if they still harass you, it’ll get worse for them.

I also went through a very similar situation that actually escalated to the point where I felt entirely unsafe. I had been talking with ESO and Sony for months before either of them decided to act. While Eso actually attempted to help me out by changing my account names and talking to me about the situation Sony were very slow and I had to make a number of phone calls and emails before they actually acted on it. While I can't really go into details of what happened it was very stressful for me and in all my years of gaming I had never been in that situation before. Blocking on Console does not work.

I would like to point out this happened a while ago and I do think more moderation is still needed in this area for all players.

Actually, I was think of getting in touch with Microsoft to get their account banned entirely. I mean if I blocked and in an ideal world the block system worked, who’s To say he won’t go on to do the same thing to other people?

This is probably what is happening. I doubt that ZOS handles issues like this on XBox. All of you are Microsoft customers first, and ZOS customers second. ZOS has probably brought this to the attention of Microsoft on your behalf.

This has been an ongoing situation for the past month, several tickets, nothing done so you can understand why I’m peeved. Whilst tell me to block them is all good, the block system literally does not work on Xbox. I can still see his chat in zone although he cannot message me through Xbox.

To further this, my friend defended me and ZoS where quick to hand him a communications ban, yet the actual vile user was allowed to go on for another 28 days sexually harassing me to the point where he threatened to *** me

People like this should also learn it's not acceptable by being punished for it. The internet doesn't give you freedom to do things you wouldn't dare do on a street to random strangers.

Any way I should stop posting and debating here and let ZOS do their jobs.

I don't know how blocking works on Xbox as I am on the PS4 but I know for a fact that it does not work haha, I am not sure how it behaves on PC either, however if this player has started sending messages to you outside of game then by all means contact Microsoft, send the screenshots to them as well.

I have them blocked so that means they can’t send me messages through Xbox live but ESO doesn’t detect the block so I can still see their in game chats

i dont have an xb and never will so could be wrong here, but this sentence sounds like you blocked them on the xbox and not the game? does the xb game not have an ignore button? it sounds to me, from what you said, that he was not contacting you via the game but via xbox? then you blocked him there but now hes using the game to contact you?

Blocking them via Xbox generally adds them to all in game block lists

Go on to account.elderscrollsonline.com, sign in, go to your profile and change your @name. If they don't know it then they shouldn't be able to get in contact with you. Would that be a possible solution for you?

I don't know if this is possible for Xbox, i'm on PC, so sorry if this doesn't apply and it just uses your gamertag. Maybe try changing your gamertag or something instead if that is the case. I'm sure if you contact microsoft they may be able to do it for you, free of charge, if ZOS is not taking appropriate action to fix your issue.

It is possible on Xbox. First time it's free, second time it costs money.

While this is interesting, @Libonotus shouldn't be forced to change their account name because they are being harassed. If they're like many people, they're probably attached to their name. The appropriate channels should be able to resolve this issue, hopefully.

It's also important to be sympathetic to the person's level of frustration, especially with as long as it's been going on.

To @Libonotus , I would definitely use your cell phone to take pictures/document the harassment in as much detail as possible.

Also, many jurisdictions have online harassment laws, so if necessary, you can get the authorities involved and then provide them with all documentation, including your emails with ZOS.

While they should not have to, in this case, I think that they should change their XBox Gamertag. This should not count against the free change that they are allowed, but to do that, all of this has to be taken to Microsoft and action as to be taken.

Since the harassing party can get a new XBox account and resume the harassment, I think that this is important.
