I remember my 1st Kobudo lessons, where my sensei allowed me to try out a few weapons besides the bo staff.

I quickly found my all time favorite (Tonfa) and least favorite (Nunchaku)

I ended up hitting myself in the head with it and having a brown bump on my forehead for about 3 weeks

Twenty-two years military, mainly Army: Airborne, Recon, Medic and lotsa CQB. I aspired to be a Warrior Poet and excelled at being a soldier curmudgeon. I was lucky and they weren't when it counted.

Did some boxing, Kendo, Iado and Kempo.

Made of glass now. I am paying for all those FIDO moments.

My friend just got back from the Army . He was medical discharged because he talk and walks in his sleep and turned out to be prone to seizures after heat exhaustion . He is so sad he did not make it and stayed the entire time and volunteered to work making food and packing everyone's gear every morning despite missing his family everyday and could of left earlier . I don't know how to cheer him up but I try . Any advice from Vets that know more about this thing ?

BJJ purple belt here. Was doing martial arts all my life including Combat *** and MMA in UTC in UK until I got married 5 years ago. Now my son is 2 years old and hopefully he will be in to BJJ and I will be able to drop him at kids class and have a roll.

Well did MMA for a year before having to work and go to school. Now that I'm out, and waiting to be selected for the USAF I was considering on taking Krav Maga because there's a gym near by so I thought it would be a good opportunity to learn it. There's also a HEMA group near by that I'm interested in as well. So why should I not take Krav Maga?
