Trapping Webs - Does Anyone Use This Undaunted Skill Effectively?

The only time I've used Trapping Webs semi-consistently was in a dungeon with one of my friends who was tanking. The synergy was tough for him to activate (like other synergies the activation is really finicky), and we just gave up on using it because it was a hassle to use and felt more like a waste of time than a fun skill to use. The spiders looked cool (I was using the Shadow Silk morph that spawned two black widow spiders) but ultimately it wasn't worth slotting it over other skills.

    Only thing from undaunted worth using on a regular basis is range taunt. Passive are nice though.

    If you want to RP can wear mephala and use trapping webs for spider build
    Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

    Same story, spent awhile trying to make this work with a ranged build. Its just bad though, small radius and to hard to activate synergy.

    It used to be an option as a DW Mag Sorc spammable, however with the many many nerfs that play style have suffered for the last year plus its not an option.

    And since then I've seen no one run it at all.

    It can be used by the bow|bow build in some medium content though. Synergies are always good and spiders do deal some damage

    The skill ought to be an aoe dot, like caltrops or endless hail. Make it do less damage at the start but increase in dps the longer they are out, like endless hail with the vMA bow does but by default and then have the spiders do good DPS, not the 300 per hit they do now, like 3k per hit and then have a poison or disease dot on the target that is attacked by them. That would make then useful and Stam classes would have access to a useful synergy.

    Templars too. Shame really, it was a nice little ability when it was Magicka DMG.

    A 5 second delay on a mediocre amount of damage, a synergy that summons pets (that only scale with Max Magicka and Spell Crit, literally no other stats or CP work with them) that do less damage than a level 1 player, that costs almost as much as Caltrops? I'll pass thanks.

    I used it before skill become stamina only, now I rarely even see this skill in action.
    Too bad skill not working like DK chains so it will be really helpful for non DK tanks.

    I was using it on a lowbie for dolmen bosses during the witches festival. I was having trouble getting enough dps to get skulls with 50 million other players doing the same and needed more aoe damage. At the time all I had was endless hail.

    If its synergy based, i.e. cast it on a group of adds then your team can synergy them in, sure.

    If its straight up chains, then it will give everyone another one of DKs key tools. Warden has better ultigen and resource return.

    There was a glorious time when it was a magicka ability and magsorcs used it on a dual wield build as a spammable and oh boy was it cool. Specially when playing in a small team when your friend uses melee stam class... That moment when my stamdk friend had fear :smiley:

    Unfortunately, PvP balancer decided that it is going to be a stamina skill now and nobody ever used it again.

    It was pretty solid even after the nerfs on stamplar as you could repent the spiders.

    But now since templar can repent absolutely nothing in most trial fights it is incredibly situation.

    It's pretty much utterly useless. It's a clunky skill. If it were made to be like DK chains, that would open the door for more tank builds than just DKs being top.

    Just a reminder ZoS removed pull from silver leash because they dont want others to have access to it.

    Plus this is Aoe Damage (with synergy) skill. It wont get changed to totally different skill (with feature they already removed from others to keep dk unique) so pretty much pointless talk about it.

    Anyway, I remember the short time back when it was OP and must have skill. So there were 2 versions (too strong and too weak). Easiest solution is just find middle ground.

    It is even worse since it only works against enemies who can get snared
    Ice Furnace: This item set now grants Spell Damage, rather than Weapon Damage for the 4 piece bonus

    This ability needs to be buffed.
    • Have the "web" deal slight damage overtime, leave the delayed burst unchanged.
    • Have the synergy rely on the damage overtime rather than "if target is snared".
    • Increase the damage of the spiders summoned by Tangling Webs instead.
    • Turn the Shadow Silk into a magic morph summing daedric spiderlings dealing magic damage.
    Notes:
    Damage overtime would improve the overhaul damage, however, also relieves the limitation of the synergy from being useless against CC immune targets so it can be used against bosses. The black windows from Shadow Silk have been transferred over to Tangling Webs as stamina damage for pet builds is generally lower because of less damage multipliers and still provides a stamina option for players while providing a magicka variant. The original incentive to remove this still from magic builds was to rid the abuse of this being a powerful single target spammable long ago, because the functionality of the skill was changed to behave differently, that decision is now inconsequential.

    I tried to use it. 5 pets on a sorc and I throw this skill out in a pug dungeon hoping to get 7 pets but nobody will use the synergy! Even if I ask nicely it's like they will go out of their way to avoid the synergy.
