I entered the sweepstakes but I do not want to win the grand prize.

Grand prize (1 winner):
•Become a character in The Elder Scrolls Online! We'll create you as a character in the game.

If I do win I hope I can decline having myself as a character but accept the other prizes.
Even if I was to accept I don't see how they could make a character that actually looks like me with the character creator options. Everyone will end up looking like a generic npc.
And what will I be doing in the game? Will my full name be displayed?
I don't think this grand prize is a good idea. Too bad it wasn't money :smiley:

    I don't really want myself, as I am not that interesting in name or appearance. Would be neat if we could make an NPC and name it however.

    I don't think you have to literally use yourself and your name. You could use a nickname or some variation that wouldn't actually reveal your real name. Or I think it said you could have an NPC based on your character, although I wouldn't do that because it would be weird for one of my characters to run into herself as an NPC. :D

    no matter it's my real name, or one of my nicknames, it would be nice to have myself as a piece of ESO scenery for forever. And I don't really need to be that special. I could just be a simple Breton sweeping the floor somewhere with maybe like 1 generic line of text or something.

    I also signed up for the contest, although I am not looking for the grand prize either. I only participate for a chance to get that neat Xbox One X in ESO style. I'm too poor to buy one.

    I'm picturing a jovial shopkeeper who minds the shop with his nice wife while the cats roam around taking care of the mice.

    Um, this is a non issue. Whoever is fortunate enough to win this can either choose to have themselves, OR one of their characters immortalized in the game. So if you don't want yourself recreated in the game pick one of your toons (if you are lucky enough to win the grand prize).

    From the announcement:

    "That's right – you, or one of your existing ESO characters, will be recreated in-game as an NPC. (See the Official Rules below for details of each potential prize)."

    Ooh, I wonder if we get to specify the pool of treasure items our corpse can drop. That would be a pretty great insight into someone's personality. :D

    They should reword and update the sweepstakes info web page then.
    It only says "you" nothing about your character. It's confusing and not clear.

    If you get to choose a character then I will accept. I might just have to create a couple with...interesting names:)

    If my character wins, #1 it adds a new mixed race character (Colovian mother and Nord father) to the universe (I'm not a complaining SJW cry baby, just noticed a lack of characters with different racial parentage), #2 it adds a Colovian character with a name appropriate to the naming schism dividing western Imperials and eastern Imperials, #3 adds a Cyrodilic contender to Harkon of Skyrim :naughty: (vampires FTW)!

    It's an interesting concept and I'm surprised no MMO has experimented with this yet to enable players to customize their character's appearance to look like themselves in real life.

    So I approve of the idea. I'd like to see a game try it and see how it all works out.
