Unable to hit or CC someone on a Horse?

Did i miss something in the patch notes?

After CWC patch i am finding that my Crit Charge on someone trying to ride away from me, will fail. It will simply fail to connect and do any damage whatsoever. Only VERy rarely, like 1 in 10 times will it actually hit, and i feel like those are the times the person is riding towards me.

Even when i CC the person, with the new Undodgeable/Unblockable Sorcerer CC Skill, nothing happens ?

I did not have any of these issues before CWC patch.

I've noticed that as well. The DK petrify and talons won't work on anyone mounted either. Even the Anti-Calvary caltrops morph doesn't dismount anyone.

It's like this now on console. Can't crit rush someone on there mount.

Trust me, got nothing to do with ganking. Quite the opposite. When i wrote this, it was out of frustration, because some potato, after chasing me for half a mile with 2 of his friends, got up on his horse, after i had killed his 2 friends, and just casually rode away. I could simply not get him off the horse. Crit Charge failed every single time. The CC did not work. So he could just ride along...

Of course that is not the only time - it seems like a general issue. That was just the drop that made it for me.

Maybe it's just lag or something changed in the hit detection. Fully upgraded mounts move at ridiculous speed so any normal issues are going to be magnified by 10 and in terms of crit rush the player could be easily registered as moved outside of where you were aiming when you cast the ability prior to it registering on the server. That would explain why you notice it only working when the player is riding towards you because they would be staying lined up with where your reticle was aimed even if there's a delay and they've moved further forward.

in which case - it would have become a mount race to get that son of gun...

They changed the stun after a forced dismount from 3 to 2 seconds. Maybe something else broke in the process as well. You never know.

Only working gap closers last few patches are ambush and lotus fan. The rest miss anything moving pretty much

Yes! This might be one of the most annoying things in Cyrodill for me...

Im slowly jogging around on my dk trying to find some nice fights instead of being zerged down, i finally see a a zergling on a mount and try to fight zergling. Crit rush doesnt do anything, no damage, no connection but i do lose stamina... Zergling just rides of on his mount to his zergfriends.

On PC Eu in Vivec 99% of the people wont get of their mount when they are alone and just ride off.. when i manage to hit 1 of the 10 critrushes they dont even fall off because everyone seems to have max horse stam anyway...

Wish they made it if you are attacked in Cyrodill by a human player you dismount automatically.. no falling off the horse but just dismount. I mean... they whole point of Cyrodill and PvP is to fight people right? Not ride of on your horse when someone wants to PvP against you?

Personal high was when i was chasing 2 AD between Faragyll and Roebeck.. i almost got to Faragyll farm spamming critrush and might have hit 1 during that whole ''ride''. It ended when 2 EP nightblades double ambush incap ganked me and i couldnt break the cc from the critrush spam..

People have been hard CC immune on horses for a long time. There were a couple of exceptions to that rule though (rune prison and agony I think). But those were changed to stun or removed, so now I think you're completely Cc immune while mounted

If charge abilities no longer can hit mounted people, that will suck

They need to change the way Stamina works on Mounts. It should have nothing to do with how much damage you can take before falling off or dismounting. It should only determine how long you can move at max speed the same as when you run out of Stamina when running on foot. You shouldn't need a nuclear strike to cause someone with max Stamina to dismount a horse.

I play Sword & Board a lot in Cyrodil and never thought...damn I can run fast as a horse and be strong enough to dismount the rider...bet those infantry in battles wish they had thought of that when the mounted units arrived to dominate them.

This is a real issue recently. I've hit people on horse back and literally had them down to 25% life and yet still failed to dismount them. I'm not a ganker build...just perfectly positioned to hit them several times as they approached and passed me. They rode off into the sunset like I wasn't even there...ZOS needs to investigate this.

I've been having this issue since before CWC even. I've had occasions where I'd crit rush someone on horseback 6+ times before a single one connected.

Sometimes even without horses, if my target is sprinting fast enough, crit rush fails to connect. No evasion/dodge occurred.

I'd support an adjustment to the way stamina works on mounts, for sure. I've dropped meteor (on a relatively low-damage build, but still) on mounted folks and had them just ride away, which is kinda funny. Now that the dismount CC can be broken (in theory) and gives CC immunity afterwards, it seems reasonable to make it a little easier to trigger the dismount.

I'm still new to ESO PvP, but would this have anything to do with it?

Rapid Maneuver:

Active
Mobilize your forces, granting Major Expedition and Major Gallop to you and your allies, increasing Movement Speed by 30% and Mounted Speed by 30% for 30 seconds. Also grants immunity to snares and immobilization.
The effect ends if you cast any spell on an enemy or an ally.
