My core principle is don't add new major building block such as class race weapon until you know what it will bring different than other existing to the table.

The warden seemed to me to bring.a JOAT versatility and a unique each class skill line role focus. (That they now say they plan to rework existing classes for this skill line role thing bothers me.)

Secondary principle is the new should not supplant the old.

That said, I do like the idea of more world and guild skill lines. As a matter of fact, I would like to see existing guilds reworked to be more useful supporting roles and solo.

    No classes.
I want to play "as you want" like they said.
Choose your race (Khajiit), choose your playstyle (sneaky ?), choose your weapon (dagger ?), choose your magic (Illusion ?), and go but I don't hope about it anymore, it will never happen in the online ES, sadly. ^^

World Skills "only" is pretty limiting, since I think there's a lot of room for more weapon skill trees as well (spears, crossbows, fist weapons). And once they've implemented enough of those, I'd still rather see new sub-class trees over new classes altogether, or even the option to dual-class.

No, because lots of classes only really works in games with plenty of hard roles (e.g - dedicated buffer, an AOE healer, a single target healer, ranged DPS, melee DPS, a debufer/CC, etc), this game doesn't have that, you already see there isn't really even enough room for Warden in trials, etc, so adding more classes would be silly.

I'd like changes to the CP system that let us augment our class abilities. I'd like spellcrafting maybe. More world skill lines is ok except it ends up being more "all things on every character" which is not that interesting. Meaningful either/or choices would be better.

But I'd settle for just no new classes. Especially necromancer, god no nonono thank you but no.

I think you're largely spot-on, OP. My only concern is that Spellcrafting might make things too homogenized.

The thought of a new class sounds fun, however, comparing to the Warden we have and what else came with such an addition, I would rather not. The quality is a turn off for me, personally, I'd like some world skills added so my old characters could have something new to potentially play around with.

    I am bored, that's why. :s

No, because I don't want classes at all... at least not the skill/ability restrictive ones we have at the moment.

Don't just slap a title on our characters and call it our profession. Lazy. Allow us access to all skill lines and then allow us to embody our own character concepts as we see fit.

I'd just love a complete spell crafting/martial style based system.

Conjure a ball of energy. Conjure a ball of fire or a ball of ice etc. The ball now stuns, but costs more/less range. It is now a pulse of fire dealing AoE damage. Now it is a grasp of fire that comes from the ground and roots. You now have talons. Or for stam you have an attack. You can deal extra damage with that attack but requires a small charge. It can now stun but requres a slightly longer charge. You now have uppercut.

There would be limits heavier than what exist now. If you want to stack 3 super powerful AoEs for half your mag that will decimate anyone near. Sure. But have fun being immobile and super weak.

Summons and the like would have to be discovered.

Yes, I want to see a Berserker, Necromancer and Monk class in ESO. If you were the DM you would respect the players that play the game in their way buy new roles that illuminate the minds of others opening the world of fantasy to another extent so everyone can be well-respected to the player in the player base of the of the game. Why run a campaign or MMORPG open world and limit the players to basic classes?

Expand upon current classes or skill lines. Adding more classes to a game that already has 5, 10 if you count magicka/stamina variants is ridiculous.

agree - before new class go with third morph but before that get most morphs competitive with each other.

There are so many skills/morphs that are useless at the moment, make them viable first.

    Then make new trials/dungeons.

A new class doesn't make new content as far as I'm concerned.

I'd like to see the Class System gone.

I'd like to see Skill "Trees" defined as Offensive (Primarily damage causing skills), Defensive (primarily damage reduction skills), and Utility Trees to include Crowd Control, Debuffing/Buffing, Healing, Pet Control.

Then allow players to choose Three Skill Trees, limited to one of each type.

sounds very vanilla - every character ends with with similar potency trees for each of the elements. Why not just three lines total with customization of visual/audio effects? With all the actual impacts standardized and homogenized they can spend a lot less time on balance and tactics and a lot more on the cool as crap visuals.

    Remove the class system!

    Or at least... diminish it.

My idea is that classes simply give you a buff of 10-15% (depending on balancing) to the relevant skill lines. That means it's still important in end-game, but not so important to non-competitive players.

In order to keep it relevant in a minor way to non-competitive players, classes could also give improved experience towards certain skill lines - in the same way that major skills in oblivion would level up faster than minor ones. I would suggest 10% for this as well.

This should significantly help with class balancing - although it puts more focus on individual skill balancing...

We don’t need new classes. What we need is new weapon skill lines that are available to everyone. The current selection might seem varied to a new player, but you are actually very limited with what you use at this point.

I’d love to be able to use Spears and stuff like that. There are plenty of options in the lore that aren’t present in game, all it would take is some effort by ZO$
