We plan to release an article soon detailing what you can expect to see on the XBox One X, but in general, you'll see improved graphics on the XBox One X and Update 16 will bring performance improvements for all platforms.

Anyone else love that the X-box One X comes out the same day as update 16? Or is that just "meh.?

@THEDKEXPERIENCE In my honest opinion, with no programming or game making background just a long time gamer, i think that the xbox one x will improve graphics (as @ZOS_GinaBruno said) and maybe even frame rate for us on xbox.. The thing about the lag and the awful way the game runs is that i think its a server issue.. Its worse for us on xbox, for some reason, but it happens to everyone on PC XB1 Ps4 Eu Na.. It seems to be a very small amount of people in this game that say they never get really bad lag, especially in PVP.. The majority seem to get awful lag on all platforms..

So if what gina says is true then the new xbox combined with update 16 should help the game alot, however i have been heartbroken in the past so lets hope for the best.. I think what upsets most people, myself included, is that there is no post or comment or anything, anywhere, saying something like " yes we know are servers are in really bad shape but we are confident update 16 will improve them greatly"... There is no admission on Zos' part.. I just wish they were a bit more honest, honesty goes a long way in communities like this..

also my buddy at gamestop advised me not to get the xbox one x right away, just in case there are issues.. The warranty will cover it, but you'll have to send it out and have no xbox for a bit.. SO what im gonna do is keep my old one, since gamestop will prob give you 20 bucks for it anyway, and hope this new xbox has no bugs..

He also told me the xbox one s is a really good system and a good step up from the xbox one.. He said if im not gaming in 4k i should think about just going with the xbox one s.. However, if i want the best system available then i should obv get the new xbox.. Big price difference though, 200 to 500 bucks..

Pretty much my thinking. My one hope is that the greater memory could help with things. For the most part I haven’t had an awful time of it in comparison to others but when the thing you’re best at I’m the whole game is keep defense (I am REALLY good at defending keeps) and I’m in the middle of holding off 12 dudes at a breach only for it to freeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzeeeeeeeee....... it gets quite annoying. I’ve had this happen so many times it’s insane.

We’re totally on the same wavelength. That’s exactly what I did for this XBox. Waited 6 months and then got it to avoid bugs.

But this one looks so fun. Haha. I might just do it.

The difference between the Xbox One and Xbox One S is almost non existent performance wise. However, the internal power source and smaller form factor are both nice upgrades.

As a long time player on Xbox who did switch to PC, I can tell you what I did to improve my Xbox One's ESO performance tenfold!

Xbox One's biggest bottleneck is it's 5400 RPM Hard Drive. If you are thinking about investing $500 into the Xbox One X, which if I remember correctly, has the same grabage Hard Drive in it.

Why not spend $130-$150 on a Solid State Drive instead? This cut my Xbox One load times into highly populated areas like Stormhaven-Wayrest from ~40 seconds, to ~10 seconds.

I guess IF you have cash running from every pocket, you could do both the Xbox One X, and buy a Solid State Drive. Therefore getting the graphical enhancement of the Xbox One X, and the huge performance boost of the Solid State Drive!

Here is a Youtube link with installation info, and links to purchasing the necessary hardware. WARNING! You need to buy at least a 256GB+ SSD in order for it to be compatible with your Xbox One. I bought the 500GB Samsung linked in his video description.
    https://youtube.com/watch?v=t4evch303C4

    Disclaimer-
By upgrading to a SSD you can expect much faster load times, a small improvement to the frame loss from massive PVP battles and less disconnects in Cyrodiil.

What not to expect- Anything higher than the 30 FPS the Xbox One is capped at, a better graphical experience, and perfection.

The Xbox One still has a poor CPU and moderate at best GPU, so upgrading one element for the system doesn't mean you're suddenly a PC gamer.

    Hope this helps! -Kypran

I can confirm an external SSD helps to reduce load times and FPS glitching tremendously. There's no more random loading screens while traveling to/from the wayshrine in Grahtwood and black player silhouettes outlines are still present but nearly non-existent. Switching characters from the character select load screen is drastically improved as well.

Thanks a ton for the suggestion -- totally worth the investment!

I did the same thing and I'll run it on my xbox one x as well but the only difference is I spent a little more money on that 1T SSD so I'll enjoy it even more with the X

Soon is often utilized in a generous way for this forum, just hoping to know when to check back or in efforts to avoid tagging you further when it may not be in your hands.

My 2-cents: Absolutely get a solid state drive for your ESO installation on your Xbox One. Its not even a night-and-day difference. For me, its a play-or-don't-play difference. I don't crash nearly as often in trouble spots. The game loads fast. Its weird waiting more than 10 seconds on any loading screen now; there are few mid-zone screens even in Cyrodiil.

Back to the X: Sounds like ZOS is going to give us native 4K, slightly further draw distance, and then call it a day for the Xbox One X. My guess is we're getting the best of the options of the PS4 Pro update - all in one. ...Having said that, many of us on other sites were hoping for an alternative 'Performance' mode that targeted 60fps at the expense of resolution and quality, as we felt the XB1X could handle it...but earlier ZOS comments made - and Gina's above post - make it sound as though ZOS decided against it. Shame.

Hey everyone, it’s been a while. I haven’t played much over the last few months mostly due to simply being tired of Cyrodiil crashes and the like.

From my perspective it does not matter how much powerfully rig you have. I played this game back in 2014 on an old PC.. my graphics were set to low ( 30 - 45 FPS). I still had insane FPS drops In Cyro. Now I play on a modern high - end PC. Graphics are set to ultra and I usually have 60+ FPS... but not in Cyro. There are still insane FPS drops to like 5 - 15 FPS. The longer the game runs - the more FPS drops.

The ps4 pro version FPS increase was minimal for pvp and trials. The issue with this game is the code not the consoles.

Since the Consoles CPU clock speed is low , you can Never have high FPS on EsO no matter how many cores and how many Tflops the GPU has . Eso is heavily Single core focused and intense fights in Trials and PvP required more Physics calculation which are CPU dependant and this results as 10 fps in zerg fights or trials.

Confused with your statement, wasn't the Xbox One harddrive pretty much glued to the inside of the machine, thus not making it possible to remove?

Read about this somewhere ages ago, would love some clarification.

    @Takes-No-Prisoner
You would use an external SSD drive and just plug it into the USB slot on the xbox one, xbox one s or xbox one x
It will format it and then work for your games and apps
