Agree on 15 on dummy, boss fights might involve lots of dodging, being cc / tied down. Think fungal 2, this will hurt your dps.I'd say 15k on target dummy. DPS will be higher as I debuff the mobs a lot. The worst part of low DPS is they die and eventually more will die because it takes too long and I'm the last one standing and can't always get a rez off.
Good point its a lot about survival too, no healer can not save you from the 50K blast from standing in stupid doing you 20K parseIt's hard to give a generic minimum DPS number.
But... After just tanking vBC2 with two groups who needed almost 10 minutes for the Maw of the Infernal and 5+ minutes for Keeper Imiril, and who were dead more than alive during the Rilis fight (neither group managed to complete it), I have to say I'm so done with trying to do that dungeon as tank using group finder.

For random group finder a dps queuing as a tank shouldn't be allowed. If I go in as a dps or healer and I'm having to deal with agro from the boss I'm gonna leave or vote to kick you. Unless you say "btw guys, I'm not a real tank, just a heads up". Fine at least you had the decency to warn us.
As for dps requirement...None. As long as you're not spamming light and heavy attacks you're doing some damage to help so...Good enough for me.

Only LA, snipe or hard cast frag or having 30K health make you an fake DD and an noob.disintegr8 wrote: »If a player is down only as a DPS and does not tank, taunt or heal, then they are a DPS - not a fake DPS.
How much damage they do is a different discussion.

If I'm using the group finder I fully expect to get Snipe spammers in heavy armor and prepare accordingly, anyone who actually does damage is a pleasant surprise. The key to success is lowered expectations.
