No, but this at least guarantees you will get what you want eventually. The problem is if each daily dropped 1000 people would be running around in perfect gear in days.

With this it will still take time and still makes it so enough people have to use the finder. If everybody could just have perfect gear tomorrow nobody would use the finder which would make it even more frustrating for people that don't run with guilds.

I had like 10-15 of them - always 1 crystal. No matter what... I doubt that it is random. I guess they silently nerfed the drop, em, it is a "bug"/"feature".

If you do a little searching you will find a well written thread with rational and a little logic. It would be best to add to that thread than create another since Zos is more likely to looks at threads that do more than just complain.

Who argued the trait grind was going to stop? The only statements that I read were the trait grind now has light at the end of the tunnel in general.

Before the update
-Grind for gear type + trait

This could go on for months as I have experienced myself. For example I went for a Infused Netches touch pants. I never got these until last week. Way after I gave up trying to get it. The total time for this grind was since HOTR release.

After the update
-Grind for gear type + trait
-While grinding in Dungeons/trials/PVP and other areas you also receive trait stones

What is different here? I now have two sources to get the trait I want. I still have only one source to get the gear type I want.

Both are still RNG. Nothing changed there, but my overall grind time will be less to get the trait I want on the gear type I want.

How much less? That has yet to be determined.

I've been running through all my alts in PvP getting the first RotW, so I've opened about 7-8 Gold Geodes. I got 5, 10, and 25, with 4 in all the others. So it is possible!

I'm up to 71 crystals now, did one Normal pledge solo, got 1.....did PvP after that and got 70 in last 2 days cycling through all my (PvE) alts.

Instead of the 4-25 boxes giving 4 each time leaving people disappointed, they should of been 1-5 and still give 4. People would of been thrilled, while still getting the same amount.

Regardless of what they drop, I hope people are opening those mails on an alt/mule character and saving them to open as you need them. Right now it feels like not enough, same as heartwood, but later on you'll want to keep a bank of these without them going to waste due to the cap.

Exactly. People should be talking about this as well. ZOS will probably even go so far as to tie it to writs: "Writs now have a small chance to drop a spool of Stitching Thread so you can change the look of your gear. You will need 50 spools of Stitching Thread to change the look of one piece of gear."

I got all my end game gears solo or by pugging 99% of the time, and that is precisely why I play ESO. This game allows me to get everything I want without having to join a guild. Ingame guilds are riddled with elitists and I'm more than happy to not interact with them. Sure pugs have elitists too, but I can always kick them or leave myself without running into drama. I'm only in trade guilds to sell stuff. As for the rest, I prefer to do things on my own.

On XBNA there is a guild that caters to solo players...I was a member until I needed a trader guild...but everybody there left each other alone...and if you needed help it was always out there...

Seems so easy for pvpers to get them and doesn't even take about a quarter of the time of a daily dungeon, and yet all the dungeons i've ran first time every day all gave 1 crystal each.

Well you can get 15 just by doing nAA, nHel Ra and nSO once per week (coffers always seem to drop 5 crystals)... Thats super easy. If you have alts, you can do that on every alt.
And yeah, they never promised an easy way to obtain gear. Its still a grind, but its better than before because its a finite grind.

Transmutation isn't here to cancel out having to do content, it's here to provide a guarantee you will get the desired trait on the desired item eventually by doing content you would be doing anyway. The fact that some people think they were going to have Transmutation Crystals pouring out of their bank on day 1 is a little ridiculous of an expectation.

Transmutation Crystals didn't exist until Monday the 23rd of October. So no, I don't think it's ridiculous. I think it's a supplement to an endless grind. There is literally no argument here. This system doesn't break the economy and also eases the endless and unknowing grind. You still have to play the game to get things, yet you have a certainty that you will eventually get the thing now. It's a win/win if you enjoy playing ESO. If you treat the game like a job, you wouldn't be happy with 80 crystals a dungeon.

Well said. It would make 0 sense to just hand over the end game gear so readily. Allowing players to freely or easily change traits would negate what little sense of achievement there is left when acquiring certain gear.
