Yes, the console version was nice, and probably made different (quieter, low-key) on purpose since on console it was usually playing on a TV with the volume turned up. Less startling if you left the game alone and it kicked you back to the login screen with the music. The PC music (and the newer Morrowind music) starts up louder and is kind of obnoxious if you weren't expecting it. Intentional or not, it was better user experience design with the old console music.

And is it just me, when One Tamriel came out, did it seem like the map-style logo/startup screen on console looked like a rip-off of Destiny's similar screen? For console, I preferred the old smoke/ouroboros screen. Simple, understated, atmospheric.

I ran across this video the other day ...

In it you see the person who actually wrote and sings the song "The Beauty of Dawn" ... she wrote this 'fan song' for the Elder Scrolls community.

Anyway, watching this video was somewhat nostalgic and reminded me of why I fell in love with ESO. It was so easy to become totally immersed in this game (pve), especially after taking a little time to understand the lore. Not only are the visuals great, but many quests are so very well written that I would get that 'hero feeling' quite often after finishing one.

While it's a bit off topic (not title screen music), it is ESO music related. :)

Yeah, Malukah is awesome, especially when she accompanies herself.

Actually the console title screens are a lot louder than PC. It’s always been too loud on console even after the adjustment. Sound settings don’t apply until we reach the character select screen.

    Shrug

The initial smoke dark screen was by far my favorite.

I loved the old music. I was so disappointed when they changed it... if they had a way to switch back I would love that! I miss it.

    I love the Morrowind theme.

I also love the original theme, and listen to it wistfully now and again on the soundtrack album.

It wouldn't hurt my feelings if the themes alternated on a regular basis.
