Old Eso Title & Music

Hello,

I am playing ESO on the Xbox One and wanted to ask if the old title screen (the one with the map) will ever come back (with the old music).
Don't get me wrong. The new Morrowind title looks good and all, but I think it does not fit for several reasons.

1. If you do not own ESO: Morrowind, it looks like a giant ad.
2. If you DO own Morrowind, it still looks like a giant ad.
3. The game is about whole tamriel and not just Morrowind.
4. I think the old music faded in smoother and brought you in the game quite well. It also never got annoying.
5. The music is just to close to morrowind (I did like TES III and for some time I liked how the music remembered me about that, but that is gone now and I am playing in tamriel and not just vvardenfell)

The current title just gives you the morrowind "vibe" but maybe you are just playing cyrodiil, craglorn, the sewers or just something else and it doesn't fit at all.

Maybe an option to switch between the titles would help.
I don't know if it is a standard in mmos to change the title on new updates, but then it should be HOTR, since the update changed quite a bit.

This is not a rant. I really liked the music and the art is nice. I just think that it does not fit quite well.

Yeah an option to switch between the two - and presumably a third when the next chapter comes - out would be nice. I mean yeah I love the new theme and all but original theme is also very nice and just fits the game so well.

If I had to wager guess though i'd say they did all this to express how they feel about "chapters", I believe they said they would have a greater emphasis on story - er, rather that with each new chapter would be a big evolution in for ESO as a game and the story(/ies) in the game. Morrowind was the first so i'm not sure if we ever will get the option and instead will just get a new theme and all that every time a new chapter comes out or what, but I still agree that it would be nice to have the option.

I love the new Morrowind theme, but I do kind of miss the old theme for ESO. I felt the same when Guild Wars (one) changed their theme back in the day, years of hearing one theme to suddenly have change.

I do wonder if we're going to get a change with every expansion now though, which I wouldn't be entirely against as I did like when CCP did it for EVE Online and each major release we got a new theme to get hyped about.

Loved the old music theme; I am starting to hate the Morrowind one: The music swells very loudly - too loudly - and I like loud music. Relative to the volume of the rest of the game it is too loud. I mute it until it loads up the toon with zone music.

I miss old theme song too. It always made me happy when I came from school and started play the game. Old theme reminded me to Cyrodiil. The Alliance War is the main thing in this game, and now we must just think Vvardenfell. This new theme is good too, but older is much better.

You are right, about that title screen. You can see "Morrowind" and Warden symbol(?). How about other world? You can play in whole Tamriel (almost), but title screen tells "You can play only in Morrowind".

I hope we can choose between new and old theme...

I didn't particularly like the new song at first, but it's growing on me, especially when I realised it kicks into original 'Nerevar Rising' about half way through.
I do much prefer the old theme though. It was more majestic and powerful, and would always give me 'dem feels'.
I too would love an option to choose between them.

I like the idea of the theme changing with each Chapter, but I also miss the old music--and I'm pretty sure I'll miss the Morrowind music when Summerset (just speculation, guys) goes live.

I don't know that there's a solution to this dilemma.

I ran across this video the other day ...

In it you see the person who actually wrote and sings the song "The Beauty of Dawn" ... she wrote this 'fan song' for the Elder Scrolls community.

Anyway, watching this video was somewhat nostalgic and reminded me of why I fell in love with ESO. It was so easy to become totally immersed in this game (pve), especially after taking a little time to understand the lore. Not only are the visuals great, but many quests are so very well written that I would get that 'hero feeling' quite often after finishing one.

Heh, I understand what you mean OP. I enjoy both themes but I do feel like the old menu suited the game as a whole more.

I miss For blood, for glory and for honor. I personally just dont like the Morrowind title song. Seems like most people like it, but I just dont.

Is there a way to get the idea of a switch to ZOS? That way everybody could have the game they want.

I like the new theme better but id like the option to switch off as if blackmarsh was the new chapter I would rather hear dunmer music than inferior argonian theme

Part of the reason why I left the game was due to the new intro music, it was just too annoying.
Not only that but it was specifically designed to stay in your head and be even more annoying after you switched off the game.
It's very similar to the Destiny music, which uses a sort of lullaby swing tempo, to known effect..

Every MMO that I've ever played always updated to the latest expansion's loading screen with no option to revert. I wouldn't expect this to change in ESO.

That would be a darn nifty feature though. As well as being to order your character how you'd like on the selection screen.

Almost every time I log on I think about how I miss the old screen and music, which is almost every day. I do like the new ones, too, but not as much.

I like both the old and new themes, as well as the art, and I wish the game would just cycle through them with a different one each time you start up the client so none of the awesomeness will be left out.

It was different in console than PC. I have both but loved Console a lot more

As a person that plays without ingame sound, only effects and voices active I can't say anything about the music. I prefer to blast my own music and the music depends on what content I am doing. But, I am tired of the Morrowind theme all over the game. You're correct when you say it looks like a massive ad, because it surely does look like one. I do suspect they will change it to be more fitting for Clockwork City once that launches, but that will also feature as a massive ad. I guess.
